Original film....fab...Rutger Hauer.....scary and a little bit sexy.
Sean Bean.....potential to be sexy with the right woman. Scary....no.
Have not seen this film as I saw the cast and thought better of it. However has anyone else seen it? and if so, am I being silly not to bother?

It passes the time. It's not dreadful, but it's not brilliant either. Didn't see the point in the remake to be honest.
Saying that, I quite liked the remake of the Wicker Man, which definitely puts me in a big minority...lol

My wife is from a small Oxfordshire village. She used to do all the maypole and all that wicker man stuff. When she found out what it was all about she was very upset.

Watch the original. I've not seen the remake but I bet it blows.

It's your typical remake really... watchable but not really much point in it actually having been made. Rutger Hauer was amazing in the first one Sean Bean was average in this and took a bit of a weird slant on the role.
... It's ok if you're bored though lol.

That was Sean Bean? Woah, I watched it with no idea it was him!
I quite liked the film as a time-passer while I painted, but not something I'd sit down and give full attention to, and certainly doesn't hold a candle to the first, but then a lot of what made the first so good for me was just not knowing what was going to happen next, which of course they couldn't replecate for people who knew of the plot.

I guess if you haven't seen the original then this remake is passable but hardly very suspensful.
but if you have seen the original (as I have) then you're going to be disappointed with this effort and pointless effort at that. Why oh why do they bother, when the original still stands the test of time
