I didn't see the ending coming either. But unfortunately to me it just re-enforced some of the glaring gaps in "the barn" scenario. A) The Walkers in other scenes have demonstrated a rudimentary intelligence, so what stopped them climnbing out through the unsecured second floor?
B) just how the heck do they open the barn door to put new walkers in without the ones already in there swarming out? Apparently we're meant to believe that (without the intervention of the rest of the party), 3 blokes were going to bring 2 walkers up to the barn, open the door and just pop them in and not get swarmed. It was totally unbelievable even in a Zombie programme format.
C) Just when was the girl bitten (and not totally consumed, how would she get away?) and how did she get in the Barn before the Party arrived?
Be affable, but have Occam's Razor in your back pocket.
A)from what i remember, the 2nd floor was too high to climb up to from the inside. either that or the usual lack of continuity, forethought and editing. B) just drop a few live chickens into the other end of the barn, should give you a good chance to shove the new ones in. c)the zombie which bit her was actually a vegan before being turned, so it started throwing up after the first bite, thus letting her escape. next episode is on Feb 12th !
My rpg gaming group has often wished that a group of gamers ("dice and paper" role playing gamers that is), could be featured as characters in a show like this. not the usual stereotyped spotty nerd virgin type gamers, proper gamers, who are on the whole, normal adult people.
There would be no splitting up so we can be picked off 1 by 1 by the bad guys, no going into dark houses, especially unarmed or alone (gamers know about LIGHTS and that "bad things" live in the dark), and all the other common sense ideas tv characters never have. no more "why the f*ck did he do that?" moments..
No I have not played it, though I have copies of all the earthdawn books somewhere (as pdf's).
99% of my rpg collection is still packed up in boxes from when i moved a few years ago, as my group only played a couple of different games over the last decade.
We recently held the 250th session of our game of Cycle of Existence (7/13) a modern day fantasy/horror game a little similar to the white wolf vampire genre, but imho, far superior. it helps we have a great gm. I worked for Games Workshop for a while a long time ago (when they sold other companies rpgs , before they switched to selling just their own warhammer junk). I'll start a thread elsewhere for rpg chat, save hijacking this one.
That gunfight a the prison in the latest episode was one of the worst i have seen. Even the idiot muslim rebels/terrorists in syria could have done better. Not one of them used the sights on their assault weapons, they continually fired on full auto (and never reloaded). A far cry from the crack well oiled combat machine they portrayed in the first episode of this series. even the guvnor was trying to aim at one point, through his blind eye...
