Revealed: How Ministers barred OBE for Paul Daniels - after he married Debbie McGeePaul Daniels was recommended for an OBE in 1992 but was never given it. Rejection leads to theory that marrying Debbie McGee may have been why. He was 49 while assistant was 29 and relationship was subject of attention. Magician admitted keeping relationship secret to avoid a public backlash. Mr Jinx Says: If this is true then they should do the decent thing and award it posthumously. Magicians Siegfried & Roy Getting Their Own BiopicI would have bet big money that either Siegfried and/or Roy, the German magician duo famous for their Las Vegas shows, died a few years ago after being attacked by one of their tigers on stage. But I would have lost that bet. Despite that very real tiger attack, they're apparently both still alive, because THR reports that they've both signed on to become executive producers of a new biopic about their remarkable ascension to Vegas magician superstardom. In often-pricey Vegas, magicians Penn & Teller continue a free traditionGetting up close and personal with Las Vegas headliners can get pricey, with one big exception: Penn & Teller. Greeting their fans, for free, after their shows is something they’ve been doing for more than four decades. Stick around in the lobby and you’ll see the famously silent Teller – the diminutive half of the duo – actually speaking. Each evening, he breaks his silence as audience members surge around him in the theater lobby at the Rio resort. On Saturday night, he was urging people to form an orderly semicircle so that he could pose for dozens of selfies. Penn Jillette – the 6-foot-7-inch, hulking and vocal half – was doing the same nearby. I've been lucky enough to meet them after show 4 times. Always a memorable experience.

Handless magician fools Penn & Teller"Born without hands, Mahdi decided to devote his life to sleight-of-hand card magic, a task that seemed self-evidently ridiculous until he started inventing his own technology from scratch...and fooling some top cardmen. I've watched with joy and amazement these last five years as Mahdi has progressed and made a name for himself literally all around the world, culminating in his recent appearance on Penn & Teller's 'Fool Us,' where he did just that. I watched the episode in full earlier, and I hate to say this, but i think P&T knew exactly how the trick was done, but want him, as a guest on their tour for the obvious novelty factor. I have no problem with that at all by the way.

Are you a fan of the tv series Houdini & Doyle? If so, I have some bad news for you..... Houdini & Doyle won't be back for a second series - on ITV Encore or FoxThere'll be no more investigations for Houdini & Doyle, as Fox has called time on the series. The US broadcaster has confirmed that the show - which starred Stephen Mangan as Sherlock Holmes's creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - won't be back for more great escapes/general sleuthing. Houdini & Doyle paired Mangan's Doyle with master illusionist Harry Houdini (Michael Weston) in stories inspired by the pair's real-life friendship. Totally agree, it was a half decent show too, but unwatchable for 99% of people who either didn't know teh chanel existed or couldnt find it.

Richard Wiseman has opened a free optical illusion exhibition at Edinburgh’s Museum of Childhood.
Visitors can watch Richard's Quirkology videos, be levitated by David Copperfield, take a photograph of an invisible ghost and much more! “I have always loved David’s levitation illusion and he has kindly allowed us to be the first exhibition in Britain to stage the piece.” said Richard. The exhibition runs until September 1st, and Richard then hopes to take the exhibition on tour. More info at richardwiseman.wordpress.com.

Houdini's Final Incredible Secret: How Houdini Mystified Sherlock Holmes' Creator by Bob Loomis. After twenty years of painstaking research, Houdini’s last great riddle has finally been solved. This unique book investigates the baffling intimate performance Houdini created for his friend Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The exploit made the creator of Sherlock Holmes insist that Harry had employed occult or supernatural powers to accomplish it. As bestselling author Richard Wiseman points out in this innovative book’s introduction, it also describes the very fabric of magic itself, including the complex relationships between each generation of performers, the way in which tricks evolve over time, and ultimately, the surprising truth about the fundamental nature of mystery.
