I've noticed cult-like behavior on some pro-psychic forums, in which they are extreme about their belief in a psychic almost as if the psychic was a god. They care about a psychics predictions so much that if you try to point out how the psychic could be a fraud, they all ban together and say the person is negative like a demon of some sort. It's like they take criticism of a psychic VERY personally. And, the psychic's predictions are BS. How do you deal with people like this?

Spiritualism IS a cult, lets get that out of the way first. I can join a spiritualist forum and within seconds will be banned just because of my name, so I dont bother any more. You need to understand that by criticising these psychics, their followers see that as a direct attack on their beliefs. Many times these people have based their whole life outlook on this belief, as well as invested thousands of pounds into that belief, of course they will get aggressive when that belief is challenge, as if they accept the criticism it means they are wrong, their beliefs are wrong and that is a very hard thing to take. As for how to deal with such people, you can only point them in the right direction, with education etc, and just hope they some how figure out the truth for themself.

I don't even think a counselor can get through to them. Despite tips on spotting psychic fraud articles posted on the forum, the information goes in one ear and out the other. I actually feel like I'm losing my mind when conversing with people in this strong state of mind. When they come back to reality, I'll be able to talk normally to them. Meanwhile, I don't want to be dragged into the insanity.

Sometimes you need to take a step back, keep calm, and just state the facts, never let opinion get in the way of things, you have historical and scientific fact on your side, so use that, and if they don't get it, then that is their loss.

You should be commended because it's draining to try and get through to psychic believers. I never heard of you, but you're known on spiritual forums?

Over 10 years of frustration at trying to get through to believers, I guess I am immune to them now. And damn there goes my ego! lol. Try mentioning me on a Spiritualist forum, and watch the abuse I get, either that or they will claim to not know who I am, or claim that you are me.

I've left many a forum due to being attacked for simply being factual or providing any form of criticism. It's highly frustrating getting into arguements with those claiming mediumistic qualities as just because I question them they will naturally assume that I am a cynic/non-believer/don't want to believe, when actually I'm just one of a large number of people that want to believe, I just don't believe EVERYTHING. And 'Hi' by the way

I know what you mean. Many people on psychic forums are extreme although they believe skeptics are extreme. I am not truly a skeptic on other matters, but psychics have proven themselves to be obvious frauds over and over again. You don't really know what people do in their private time, but I'd rather not date anyone who belongs to a psychic forum. Just like they b**** to you if you say something a psychic said did not make sense, they b**** about their boyfriends. No wonder they re single needing love advice from psychics. The phony advice only makes matters worse. I've know psychic believers who are not as extreme acting like they're in a cult. To avoid the extreme ones, stay away from psychic forums as we are. The short time I was on the forum, I was surrounded by such negative people. They claim we're the negative ones, but it's the other way around. It's hypocritical when they accuse you of not being tolerant when they're not tolerant when you say something a psychic said was questionable. You judge the psychic's reading, but they judge you as a person. They're not tolerant of your beliefs even though they claim so.

I have not posted or even visited any spiritualist forum in a long time. I get impersonated so much these days too, I am forever contacting sites telling them to remove accounts and posts claiming to be me.
I do however invited any believer/psychic or whatever to join this forum and argue their beliefs
