I found myself part of a Paranormal Investigation Facebook group which I don't think I even joined and so I began looking through the stuff posted on there and there were tons of photos of people asking 'if they could see anything in them'. There was a photograph that had been taken at night from inside a fully lit room and people were saying how they could see faces, ghosts and one person even said they could see the figure of Death standing across the street!
I think I made a comment along the lines of 'I can see lots of pareidolia' but nobody responded. Shortly afterwards I was looking through an old hard drive and found some photos I'd taken in a cemetery. I decided to make a photo for them...
I mentioned that I thought I had captured an orb but really I was waiting to see if they could spot the other 'ghost' in the picture. Some people spotted it and said it was scary but some people said it wasn't a ghost! The same people that saw the Grim Reaper in reflections of a window denied my ghost was a ghost!
It was hilarious and maddening at the same time. When the first people started to point out the ghost I was acting all freaked out and saying that I wanted to go back and check that it wasn't just part of the headstone but I'd probably do it during the day.
A good few people said they wanted to investigate and I toyed with the idea of joining in and doing a bigger hoax but I am too lazy. Photoshopping is fairly simple but pulling off a big hoax seemed too time consuming.
It was the people that were saying 'it's just part of the grave/trick of the light' that annoyed me. Personally I think they were jealous that my ghost was better than their ghost. I've noticed that quite a lot of these people are quite competitive and want to be 'the biggest psychic in the village' types.
Every time I see the "is this an orb" post, I have to really bite my tongue and stop myself from saying "no love it's dust, clean your house properly".....another pet hate of mine that grates at multiple skin !!
