You are watching an edited TV show, this is not a test of anyones abilities, the cameraman could have tipped her off, she could have just got lucky, too many explanations to go through which is why its pointless to even wonder.

I asked Professor Chris French about this Video/Test of which he was part of. He answered...(by the way : he always answers E-mails...I don't take this for granted...as a lot of well-known/prominent skeptical scientists do not answer Questions from "normal" people !) ...that he was genuinely amazed that time. He asked Diane Lazarus for further testing in which he could control the conditions...and guess what : She REFUSED !

Hi, I had a teacher who's name was Miss Lazarus back in the early/ mid 50's. She must have been psychic as she always seemed to know what I or anyone else was going to say, do, or even think....

Ok guys, i know she's a total fraud, but i'm just looking for an explanation as to how Diane Lazarus found the guy that was hiding in this video so quickly. I know this is very old story (sorry..!)...but by coincidence I found a discussion on a forum somebody who worked on the American version of the "psychic challenge TV show" stating the following : "Well then someone will need to report to the FCC that thier guidelines were not followed because people who worked for the show were indeed giving out information to the 'psychic's" of where the person would be found. I was privy to some inside production meetings and know for a fact this occurred." Now I'm wondering : does this mean, that the UK version was very likely fixed as well (that D. Lazarus would be the winner) or is British "reality TV" somehow more "trustworthy" ? And if it WAS indeed fixed : what kind of information would have helped (especially in the challenge on the beach) to find the boy so quickly that Chris French was so impressed ? (for example : "go southwest ! or "go towards the right end of the forest behind the beach !"

(for example : "go southwest ! or "go towards the right end of the forest behind the beach !" I cant be arsed to watch the video again, but the easiest way is to literally follow the cameraman. The cameraman will want to film the psychics face, and if the cameraman knows where the boy is, the psychic just needs to follow the general lead of the cameraman. Now this could be pre-arranged, or it could just be a dumb mistake by the cameraman. This is the problem in "tests" like this, they are not at all controlled, the program makers literally need to find the best psychic, so they need some to succeed in some capacity, so when you put in too many controls in place you will stop the psychics from being able to cheat. SO you put in enough controls so that it looks credible, but at the same time fully lets the psychic to cheat. ALL people involved in shows like this have standard contracts which prevent them from disparaging the show, or giving away everything that happens. Also keep in mind there will be many tests that are filmed, but never get aired as the results didn't look good enough. I like Chris French, but he is a psychologist, not a magician, and not an expert in how psychics perform tricks. So he was not the best choice for this show. But because he has a Phd, he sounds credible. But realistically any basic magician would be a better choice as the "skeptic" on such a show as they would know what to specifically look for and what controls are really needed.
