Thank goodness they found her alive, that doesn't happen much anymore these days when someone goes missing.

It's been updated now and she was concealed inside the base of a divan bed by a 39 year old man. It's not know yet if he knows the family

Or maybe she had been told to hide in the draw as the police were bashing the door down. It obviously took them a long time to get through the door as the neighbours had time to get outside.

Do you know, I have no idea. I have just jumped to that conclusion. However, saying that, there was still enough press to know that she was missing. It was still wrong.

Will be interesting to hear how they discovered that she was there, as they smashed the door down.
Will watch on tv in 15 minutes.

The reports I have heard is that the downstairs neighbour knew the flat was not occupied and heard footsteps and other noises so called the police. This man apparently has children of his own that have been taken into care and had been away for some time.

HHmmmmm. Don't like it. On the BBC it said that she was in one drawer and he was in another. The police had this house on some sort of list, and became suspicious when there was no answer!
There is more too this. She had still not been reunited with her family, was still with the police.
All a bit to sketchy for my liking.

She's under a protection order which may result in her being taken into care.

its really getting strange this one, starting with the did she run or was she snatched to how come she's not been taken home yet, its not as straight forward as first thought i think

What makes me sick is all the people jumping on the 'gave the police information' and licking their lips at the £50,000 reward from The Sun. This includes Shannons Uncle and a lost children charity!

If it was me, I'd take the Sun's money and give it to the missing person's charity. Making money out of this is not right.
Even if she did willingly go with the man, she is a vulnerable 9 year old ffs. One of the papers I read today (Independent) mentioned he slept in the same bed as her. Also, he was being friendly to her at a recent family funeral. There is a lot more to come out in this story, but the girl is the innocent one. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up in care.

I agree, not only about what to do with the money but also that the 9 year old can only be a victim in this situation!

I thnk the money should be put in a trust for Shannon to have when she's older and inaccessible to the parents

Is it normal procedure for a child to be kept in police custody in this kind of case? and not to have been reunited with her parents at all, it all seems a bit peculiar to me. I agree with you hyppydylan about the reward money.
