well if u did that then u probly would get arrested cos the majority wear clothes, including rapists and so on...so yeah there'd be a case for people not to walk around naked....shame tho cos we're all naked underneath
but covering up ur head aswell?? showing ones face doesnt necessarily encite one into sexual assault..if thats the idea, fine..personally i find it more offensive that they'd be so arrogant as to assume i'd want to sleep with them if i could see their face

Just my face lol. My cleavage aint too bad but when you are knocking 40 one has to be sensible about these things and dress appropriately and by that I don't mean cover myself with a veil
Gosh i never expected such a response, thanks for your thoughts guys.
What really annoys me is that if we visited a Muslim country we (women) would have to cover our heads, arms and legs out of respect for their faith, and are there any Christian churches in India (i think not), our children are not allowed to sing nursury rhymes such as Baa Baa Black Sheep as this is insulting to Muslims, you are going to laugh but i heard this today......they are no longer going to make black jelly babies as Asians and Muslims are offended by them, also xmas card will no longer have "Merry Christmas" on them instead they will have "Seasons Greetings", why do you think the new xmas stamps have not got a Christian theme.

Sensible Lilac? Steve was asking for asking for people to be sensible and look where that got him haha!
Talking of OTT, I was refused entry to a club last night because I wasn't carrying photo ID to prove I was over 18 - and I turned 35 week before last!!! So was the woman wearing a "30 today" badge!! And we were then turned away for being "mouthy". Got justice though, free drinks in the bar next door as the p*ssed up owner of the club took pity on us. So, hopefully that's common sense =1, idiots=0

mook, I often wonder who exactly this PC brigade are. When I lived in East London, there were many Asian/black people who were sick to death of these decisions being made in their name. Many council decisions to suppress white, Christian ideals/celebrations were made by white people desperate to score brownie points. Many intelligent, thinking people from ethnic minorities were outraged.

BA decided to ban a member of its staff from wearing a crucifix and as far as I am aware (might not be the case now), they seem to have gotten away with it. A crucifix does not offend me as a non christian. I did find something very funny and it was when I got called a jew off a muslim lady when she mistook my pentagle necklace for a star of david. I could not stop laughing. One has six points and the other has five but one can be forgiven for that. ;D
the "politically correct" brigade are most probably POLITICAL moles who just stir up crap between everyone which will cause us to demand more laws against the whole lot of us which they'll gladly put in place....
they dont care about people, they just want their plan to work...and their manipulation is how theyre gonna do it...its 1984 without the make up and slip ons

I tell you who the pc brigade are. They are those faceless suites who work in local government, get paid a lot for doing very little and because of that they can spend all day thinking up crazy ideas like banning the nativity play in primary schools. That's who the pc brigade are. Good at wasting other peoples money on half baked ideas that even the ethnic majorites laugh at

So, bearing in mind the research that shows(and i can't be bothered to look up the facts on this) something like 90% of how we read people is based on how they say something and not what they can we campaign for the right to be able to see someone's face when talking to them? Body language is an essential tool in understanding our fellow human beings.
I agree Claire. My Muslim run corner shop has a note in the window saying please remove helmets and hoods before entering but nothing about veils.
Off topic a little (but not much..) As a biker (and Lowrider may agree) I get really miffed with these signs that say "please remove helmets". I had a 20 minute argument on the M1 in a petrol station with the manager about theirs (it was not prominently displayed, and I was asked to remove my helmet at the counter), I asked why I had to remove it and was told it was for identification purposes, I'm paying cash, my £20 is in my hand. My argument was that they would only need to identify me if I committed a criminal act, were they implying I was going to? I asked at the time, what about veils, what about a sign to say no scarves to be worn, what about a sign to say if you have tattoos, please display them to the CCTV camera as you enter to make identification easier, what if I had a horrible facial disfigurement that I don't want to show? Any self respecting criminal is not going to plan a raid on a premises, get there and then think, bugger, a sign, better expose my face. ON topic... This country has gone PC mad, but I will not change my ways because some bureaucrat says we now have to call a blackboard a chalkboard and a manhole cover an access point. This is an age of litigation, a bad import from the states, sue everyone, for anything, and remember, don't just be offended, be DEEPLY offended. I would say the Worlds gone mad, but I fear its just the UK.

I don't think it is off topic, the same sign appear in banks. I was asked to remove me crash helmet at a garage where i fill up both my bike and my car and bought my car from. I had on a piss pot helmet. Open face ,no visor. Would they have asked a veiled woman??

Because monstermeercat, we're all born equal but some are more equal than others! You, with cash in hand, do not have the right to cover your face because your god does not entitle you to do so.

i do see why helmets etc might need to be removed IN CASE the wearer commits an offence...if they're not planning on doing so then theres nothing to worry about...
same with muslim veils...its already been mentioned, if there is a possibility of a crime being commited, however slim, then how can wearing a mask in the vicinity and refusing to remove it be a "right"?
busses and trains have been targeted by muslim terrorists in this country, and yet their women wonder why we ask them to remove a veil?? and on top of that, they dont only wonder, they make a bloody great big issue about it and throw racial allegations around like its goin out of fashion!
i dont know who the pc brigade are trying to please or what theyre trying to achieve....a more peaceful society? well for a start they can start listening to what their own society has to say about things...only then will we have true democracy..as it stands, we've got nothing but lies and tyranny...people are smarter than they want us to be....we notice these things....sorry
