I've been a mod on the TAPS forum for four years. No, I do not watch the show, and I generally try to be the voice of reason on the forum. This thread is probably going to be the reason I'm "fired" or I quit. They're a bunch of lunatics. If you want some entertainment, please register and check it out. It's giving me the fits because I know for a fact the persons claiming to be the original owner of the trailer (purp) and the new owner (windancer) are the same person. You should see how some of the members are acting towards the poster who seems to be getting all their haunting information directly from the movies and television. Hi Scarfyrre Just read the thread you were talking about and it lives up to your description  Im guessing you have proof that purp and windancer are one and the same along the lines of the same email address or IP etc . Even the posts from both are identical in style and grammar anyway ...similar vocabulary also . At first i wondered if they were related also ( i see a mod, perhaps you asked this question early on) what with this constant mentioning of the mother and law i to wondered if that might explain an identical email or ip being used but she clearly states that purp is not the mother in law and they arent related in answer to the question so shes shot herself in the foot there. The apparent endless mentions of her MIL's pc having a mind of its own ( jeeeesusss i mean for a pc that is so bad she needs to mention it in everypost she seems to be fairly prolific) seem to have some relevance though, why does she feel the need to mention it in EVERY post almost as if she thinks it will be an excuse she can use later etc. Could it be she is aware the IP address of her posts would be different if she used another PC and thinks somehow shes covering her tracks in some misguided way ? Theres something to it though as no one would harp on about pc problems in every single post , its not as if the posts are short , or intermittant to any great time scale as they would be if the pc was as crap as she keeps on about so i cant help but think theres some other reason for her inclusion of this in her posts. As for the content of the posts and some of the responses ...id be chuckling if it wasnt so bloody sad that anyone would actually go to those lengths for attention or some kind of reflected kudos for giving what amounts to a load of cobblers as advice. Her posts are repetative , vague and for someone who supposedly is so distressed you would think she would ask more blooming questions of the "preist" and "officer" as she seems to never have any real idea of what they are on about ....i mean after her 7 or so post i couldnt tell the difference it was all the same thing over and over again clearly lifted from every scary movie shes ever seen. Shes feeding of the responses as well , all those prayers and love and light posts , she seems to always come back on to post within a day or so of replies ...not bad for someone with a pc that never works in the midst of living between homes .....you could see the point if she had something new to add and that was what was making her post an update but it always seems to be when people have started the whole "ohhhh poor windancer , we havent heard from her , hope shes ok " etc . Without proof id be suspicious for all the reasons above , but with proof purp and windancer are the same people i have to admit i couldnt be as patient as youve been ,i think id have to post a message asking her why the two ips/email addys/whatever are linked to the same person . |

One of our admins finally locked the damn thing after another member insulted one of our mods. Admin told her not to reopen the thread and if anyone wants to know how things are going to use PMs. Sadly, I couldn't do anything as a mod to let the person(s) know that they were full of it, although I was tempted last night. I'm sure they've gone over to a site some members started called Angels and Demons or some such baloney to get more sympathy. I figure it will bite her in the butt soon enough. Quite entertaining though, eh?  |

Ohhhh it was entertaining thats for sure ...well actually in a "how much further will it go way " more than anything else .
It does interest me how some people use this type of forum as a means of getting attention or sympathy though, the human behaviour aspect of it all is something i find fascinating in the sense that if a person say at work was to come in and start regailing you and anyone else of all these occurences etc they would be questioned instantly or at best would get a varied response , also you could see their face , pick up on tell tale signs like body language and inntonation of voice etc the creation of their tale would involve them having to actually stand infront of another and tell a barefaced lie .
It seems to me the draw of the internet and forums for people like that is the annonimity , the ability to have contact yet not personal face to face contact , the chance for them to recreate who and what they are without the usual things that scupper thier game . Its a tool for attention and manipulation to them , somewhere where they can control the level of contact they have if they want to but can go to have attention lavished on them when they wish it .Unlike relationships in real life they seem to treat the internet like some kind of interface that blocks out what they dont want and gives them the ability to choose or manipultate it to what they do want ,perhaps something they are unable to achieve in real life or have tried and been found out .
Either way you have to wonder what it gives them , the attention is mercurial....one day its there the next no one gives a jot and has moved on to the next ....the need to keep them interested must take over and create a spiraling need to get more fantastical and outlandish in their claims and tales.
Theres no financial gain ,theres no real gain attention wise as those on the screen are highly unlikely to be there in a face to face basis in their lives , they generally are eventually exposed and have to move on to the next willing lot ....(something that in real life outside of the electronic one they lead is carries far heavier circumstances ) ...all it leaves is some kind of escapisim for them ...some kind of kick from having the power to keep people reading or hanging on to their words for the next enstalment .

The OP then sent the admin a PM asking our admin why she didn't ask the OP's husband if it was ok to lock the thread. Eh? Since when did the husband get a word whether or not we lock a thread. The admin then tossed a PM back saying she will lock whatever thread she wanted without the husband's permission, thank you, and by the way, why are the IPs the same when you claim to be separate people from the original owner of the trailer. The OP then muttered something about everyone uses her mother-in-law's computer and went back to her crazy hole. I think the admin tossed in a comment or two about how unbelievable her posts had become and to quit watching horror movies.
Drama over for now. The fellow posters will find someone else to adopt and we'll have another crazy thread soon, I'm sure. Right now we have a thread going on about how mirrors are portals to the paranormal.
Nothing like a paranormal message board to realize just how many crazy people are out in the world, eh?

Oh dear ....it seems the poster really is a bit nuts. Although of course it is possible that other people could use her mother in laws computer it makes no sense whatsover that the previous owner of the trailer would go to her MIL'S post direct replies to the poster online rather than simply passing on the information to the MIL and asking her to speak to the poster directly How did the previous owner even know of the thread unless the poster had told them about it , and if that was the case there would be no need for them to communicate replies to each other on line . Its clearly utter rubbish . You have to wonder if the husband even exists or the family for that matter ....very weird and strange behaviour . As for mirrors being portals to the paranormal ...jeeeeez i might just have to pop back over there and read that one for myself ....next they will be saying that cameras steal your soul and fridge magnets will cause the end of the world ;D |

Oh, please do! I mentioned the camera and soul eating in my answer to the mirror as a portal thread, but the magnet one would be awesome. As for the haunted trailer. The previous owner (purp) says she gave full disclosure to the new owner (windancer) who bought it anyway. I even asked at one point if they were related since I knew they were using the same IP, and purp said they didn't even know each other until windancer bought the trailer. What really sucks is we had a board crash and lost a ton of previous posts, and purp had posted about her grandchild being terrorized by a shadow man, but it never got any worse than the child being afraid of shadows in his room. When windancer bought the trailer, it suddenly turned into the Amityville Horror. I'm always very suspicious of people that post in the I Need Help section. Usually they complain about sleep paralysis or other things that we explain and they go on their way, but every once in a while we get the attention seekers who come up with stuff like the haunted trailer. A few years ago, a guy from Missouri had a big, long thread about this house he moved into with his children. It had all the horror movie stuff going on. Lo and behold, he writes a book and gets on an episode of "A Haunting". We just muted another member because she kept complaining about shadows, but every time another member tried to "help" her, she'd ask if he/she were in TAPS. She just wanted on TV. Bunch of crazy people out there! Hold me.  |

As a Mod, should you really be back stabbing your own forum? I would say you have no believes in what is going on over there, if this is true, stand down, you do yourself no favours.
As for the thread, didn't see it but there are a lot of nutters about, you just gotta get to know who is worth believing and who is not.

If you know someone to be a liar and that lie is plain wrong what would you do - keep your trap shut or expose the liar and stop other people being misled?. But I do believe that if you have no trust in a site, then stand down, you won't do that site any justice what so ever. You can still out them as a normal member, mind you, I am forward and honest. If it was me, I would have stood down, better than sneaking about cus I can bet you that the original poster didn't say anything on the said forum. |

From the OP it seems to be a critique of one poster and other members gullibility not the site as a whole. I'm a mod on a site also that is far less sceptical and where members are more inclined to belief in the paranormal. My trust in the site and my opinions of members ability to think logically are two totally different things.
Perhaps we should let the OP answer.
