"The Paranormal Channel" owned by Karl & Yvette is going to be renamed to "The Unexplained" have K&Y got fed up with their rubbish channel already? or have they run out of money for it? I've watched only a handful of programmes on TPC and can confirm that 100% of the programming is a total waste of time and satelitte bandwidth

Thanks, it look cool in Safari4 & Firefox3.5 Looks good in ie8.2 I used a ZX80 too. My first PC was an original IBM 8088 PC which I got for free. I had to hacksaw some of the back out to accommodate the AT slot size because I refused to change case. Heady days. Johnno

It's a logical move to change the name to The Unexplained since it widens the umbrella for the subject coverage. They can now go on to produce or buy in programming covering cryptozoological subjects such as Bigfoot and lake monsters as well as that rich mine of woo....UFO's and alien abduction. I think they can see that Ghosties are a dying business. Karl and Yvette may be bloody annoying but they're not daft.

TIGERLILYWHITE I think there's still plenty sticking to the bottom of the Paranormal barrel to see some more MH jiggery pokery for the forseeable future. If you own a chippy and you're known for your chips you don't stop selling them but you do try other things like Loch Ness Monster Burger, Bigfoot long sausages and Stake in Alien pie morganp

The channel has now changed to the unexplained channel and is showing right now round 1 of Ciaran O'Keefe and Billy Roberts "great paranormal clash" talk they a wee while back , its been filmed (bad sound though) at the meet but it looks like there wasnt that great a turn out with many empty seats. Taping it now for a better watch later but so far Co'K is talking about cold reading and the ideas that surround it etc

Well so far its been C'ok explaining his position and some experiments then Billy Roberts explaining his and doing some readings , presumably part two will be some analysis and further experiments etc . When this show was first announced and i read about it on here it seemed to be a joint venture by okeefe and roberts independant of any other shows or affiliations they both already had and there wasnt even a mention of it being filmed or shown on tv....BUT roll the credits- Director , producer and editor Karl Beattie , exec producers Karl Beattie and Yvette Fielding , Camera Stuart Torrevil ......an antix production . So looks like Antix and "da family " had a little more to do with the whole thing than it ever seemed initially when it was advertised as a stage show etc.

Apparently they are stretching out to filming amateur investigation groups now, from the word on the street.
I suppose changing the name to the unexplained gives them a bigger ball field to play in.

Changing the name to The Unexplained will certainly give them a bigger ocean to fish in but they may end up spreading their 'talents' a little too thinly. Chucking a few pebbles around and coming out with the occasional 'Did you hear that!' and 'Oh f*ck!' may well be just enough to keep the loyal MH bleevers tuned in but to try to expand the antix umbrella to cover other subjects will require more than the tired panto that MH has become.

Karl Beattie's daily Debate programmes are a laugh. I think someone must have told him to cut back on the 'It's all a load of c***' comments after the third show cus its hard to have a debate if the host has already made up his mind. At one point it was mentioned that MH submit evidence to spealists for study. One of the guests said it was the first time he'd heard they did and that they should air some of that. Sadly Living TV don't think there would be any interest in it so its not going to happen. I'm also enjoying the New Zealand programming and Strange But True (having missed it when it was originally shown). I've heard there was some good programming on the subject of the paranormal in the mid-80's and I'd love to see them air that kind of stuff. Ghost Hunters made it out onto DVD box set (watch out for Archie Roy and his wild comb-over) but apart from the BFI reissues of some of the A Ghost Story for Christmas onto DVD most of this stuff seems to be holed up in archives gathering dust.
