Remember Andy Porter, who with Gary Mannion and Nina Knowland was one of the three co-founders of the Unity of UK Psychic Surgeons?
If you were in any doubt that the terms "New Age" and "Dark Age" are interchangeable, here's a claim so obscene in its wilful ignorance you'll be left wondering why he hasn't been sent for a psychiatric evaluation himself:
Prepare yourself, this one will shock.
Schizophrenia, this condition in my experience is normally due to spirit possession and can be resolved within 1 hour
The full quote:
Yes, you read that correctly: in the first decade of the 21st century we're being asked to believe that severe mental illness is caused by spirit possession.
Many thanks to the ever-vigilant Tom Roberts who drew my attention to this disgusting statement.
Firstly, you'll notice that Andy lives in a parallel universe in which schizophrenics are still being committed to mental institutions. Hasn't he heard of care in the community, or is his spirit helper "Chen" not keeping him informed of what's happening in the real world?
As for the extraordinary claim that schizophenia "can be resolved within 1 hour", a couple of days after being quoted on several sceptic sites these words vanished into the aether (something else I'll bet Andy believes in). Evidently someone tipped him off and he realized that there IS a limit to the stupidity he can spout on the internet. But there's plenty more where that came from! Here are a few more pearls of wisdom from Andy Porter on the subject of schizophrenia:
Andy seems to be saying that in "most of these case's" - despite his miraculous ability to cure almost anything he's still a martyr to grocer's apostrophe - schizophrenia can be cured merely by evicting the "occupying entity". Is he referring to patients he's treated himself? If so then he really should devote the rest of his life to curing schizophrenia, even if it takes longer than one hour per case. I'm sure those hidebound psychiatrists are so busy peddling their horrid unnatural drugs they'd be glad to have some of the workload taken off their shoulders.
"Auric shield"..."entity attachment"...pure gibberish, completely meaningless except to the likes of Andy Porter. Some would say that such thinking is itself delusional, and I'm one of them.
The fact that Andy is treating schizophrenia at all is disturbing because he makes no secret of the fact that he has no medical training or qualifications whatesoever. I just hope that he isn't advising schizophrenics to stop taking their anti-psychotic medication. And I can't say I'm very reassured by the following statement:
How does Andy get away with this? Partly because, like his fellow "psychic surgeons" Gary Mannion and Nina Knowland, he's found a way round the little problem of having no relevant qualifications:
In other words Andy only charges for the time it takes for him to do nothing of any medical value. He doesn't charge for the worthless treatement itself, and I suppose you could argue that £30 sounds quite reasonable for what is essentially an exorcism. Gosh, it brings a lump to your throat, doesn't it? Several lumps, in fact. You'd be well advised to keep a bucket handy if you want to read Andy's website in its entirety.
A few more little gems:
But...Andy, haven't you just gone to considerable lengths to explain that schizophrenia is caused by spirit possession? Did you bother to research the real causes of schizophrenia and other severe mental illnesses such as bi-polar disorder (formerly known as manic depression)? Here's some information from the website of Rethink, a charity seeking to educate the public about schizophrenia:
No mention of spirit possession, of course, because thinking people rejected that hypothesis in the eighteenth century.
So there are many possible causes of schizophrenia, and the subject is a complicated one that doesn't lend itself to a simple solution. It's absolutely typical of New Age "healing" that this is exactly what Andy is offering - schizophrenia is caused by spirit possession, and he can cure it by getting rid of the "controlling entity".
And have a look at this, Andy:
I find Andy Porter's nonsense particularly vile because I have personal experience of caring for someone with a severe mental illness. My mother suffered from bi-polar disorder for most of her adult life and killed herself at the age of 52. My father and I both suffered nervous breakdowns due to the strain of dealing with her illness. I know how utterly desperate both patients and carers can become, and how easy it could be to be drawn into the potentially dangerous fantasy world of people like Andy Porter.

The full quote:
Psychic surgery is able to treat all conditions because the healing is performed by spirit, not the individual doing the work, and as many of today's ailments exist due to an un-balance in the spiritual body they are almost exclusively un-treatable in the western way through medicine. This can be highlighted with Schizophrenia, this condition in my experience is normally due to spirit possession and can be resolved within 1 hour but the western approach is to condemn those afflicted to mental institutions as the existence of spirit is not widely accepted.

Here are a few more pearls of wisdom from Andy Porter on the subject of schizophrenia:
Most of the people I have worked with suffering from Schizophrenia suffer terrifying symptoms such as hearing internal voices not heard by others, or believing that other people are reading their minds, controlling their thoughts, or plotting to harm them. These symptoms often leave them fearful and withdrawn. They often appear dangerous and frightening to other's around them. Often medical treatment does not make much difference and only small numbers recover completely.
In my experience most of these case's can be treated as spirit attachment, and when the other occupying entity is removed the voice's stop and a normal life can be then maintaned.

Having treated clients that have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia it is easy to see why these people hear voices and are manipulated by the controlling entities.
For this to have happened the auric shield must have been penetrated normally due to substance misuse as a fully functional auric shield would protect against entity attachment.

Some problems can be resolved remotely very quickly without the need for a visit to me...case's of Schizophrenia will need a hands on appointment.

I charge a set fee of £30, this covers my time as I do not charge for the healing.
Payment can be made using paypal, cash, or cheque.

A few more little gems:
Due to the large misuse of drugs in our society my opinion is that we will start to see cases of Schizophrenia and bi-polar mental disorders multiply dramatically.
Substance abuse seem's to be the most common reason for the onset of Schizophrenia in my opinion.

Because schizophrenia tends to run in families, researchers have been searching for specific genes, passed down through generations that may increase a person's chance of developing the illness. The evidence that heredity plays a role in the development of some forms of mental illness has been discovered by studying identical twins and comparing them to non-identical twins raised separately and the general public...
However, what exactly is inherited? The neurotransmitter system - the chemical messenger system of the body - has received a great deal of attention as a possible cause of schizophrenia. Drugs which alter these transmitters relieve schizophrenia, which certainly indicates that they are part of the cause. Studies hypothesize that a low or high level of a specific neurotransmitter such as dopamine or serotonin is the cause, that an imbalance of these substances is the problem, or that the change in the sensitivity of the receptors on nerve cells that receive the neurotransmitter messages may be factors in the cause of schizophrenia...
Genetic factors may also influence the membrane structures and metabolism of nerve cells. The structure of the membranes around neurones is dependent upon the right levels of certain essential fatty acids in the blood. People with schizophrenia have been found to have lower levels of these fatty acids...
Many studies of people with schizophrenia have found abnormalities in brain structure or in the way it functions. It should be emphasized that these abnormalities are quite subtle and are not characteristic of all people with schizophrenia, nor do they occur only in individuals with this illness...
Studies of brain tissue have also shown small changes in number of brain cells or how they are distributed in people with schizophrenia. It appears that many (but probably not all) of these changes are present before an individual becomes ill, and schizophrenia may be, in part, a disorder in development of the brain...
Schizophrenia may also be a developmental disorder resulting when neurons in the brain form the wrong connections during foetal development. These errors may be unnoticed until puberty, when changes in the brain that occur normally during this time of important changes are effected by the faulty connections. There is now much research being carried out in this area...
In recent years, there has been a build up of evidence supporting the role of viral infections in the development of schizophrenia, including the poliovirus, the flu virus and a virus called encephalitis lethargica...
Complications during pregnancy, abnormal foetal growth and complications during delivery are significant risk factors in the development of schizophrenia. Those that play a significant role in the development of schizophrenia include:
bleeding, diabetes and pre-eclampsia pregnancy complications
abnormal foetal growth and development problems including conditions such as low birth weight and reduced head circumference
complications of delivery including asphyxia (lack of oxygen) and emergency Caesarean section
However, the effect of such complications is small in comparison with factors such as genetic pre-disposition to schizophrenia...
Traumatic head injury, such from a fall or traffic accident, can cause symptoms of psychosis. How head injury plays a role in the development of schizophrenia is unknown. Researchers state that childhood such an injury to the head could interact with genetic make-up, leading to the development of schizophrenia...

And have a look at this, Andy:
It is a commonly held incorrect belief that drug use causes schizophrenia. Drugs do not directly cause schizophrenia; however, certain drugs (such as cannabis, LSD or amphetamines) may cause a disturbance in the brain that can trigger a first episode, especially in those that may already be pre-disposed to mental health problems like those who have history of mental illness in the family.
I find Andy Porter's nonsense particularly vile because I have personal experience of caring for someone with a severe mental illness.
