Just heard Yvette Fielding announce on BBC Radio 2 (Steve Wright Show) that MH is coming back to TV after a year and a half break.
No info on what channel.

As sad as i am i would LOVE this to happen , the live shows anyway, not the series - Halloween is just not the same without it. I miss degsie and david bull - not so much the HOURS and HOURS of ad breaks

Oh yes, please let it come back. I need something to watch on a dark spooky night to make me hide behind a cushion and laugh. I wonder what format they have in mind for a new show, they certainly could not go back to the old routine......or could they?. GHOST and GOULIES will be trembling in their resting places, waiting the arrival of UNCLE FESTER and CO, that is, if he, and any of the old gang are still lurking around.

I'd rather like it to return in a different form with better, more scientific methodology...but hey, we can dream ;D

Hi leese and welcome, I wont be holding my breath either until I know for certain it is coming back. After an absents of 18 months they must be feeling the pinch, money wise by now that is, the old piggy bank may be making a rattling noise.

Yes Barb ( and thank you for the second "welcome" btw) ...I fear that the 'piggy bank' may well be a tad depleted... that may well be a parking token or an old pesata you can hear rattling about in there Heard that Mr Beattie had made some reference to it taking longer than expected to get the 'rights' back ....one might assume that such wrangles come at a cost ?!

Sky Living owned the rights, (Sky took over LivingTV who originally owned the rights)
When Sky decided that they didnt want to make any more MH programs, they basically returned the rights to Antix, simple as that, although of course these things take time.
I wouldnt be surprised to see MH on ITV2

I think (referring to the old gang) Richard Felix is still doing ghost talks, I was told by a guest the other week that they'd been to see him at Dudley Castle recently.

I doubt Felix would work with Antix again but if the money is right he probably would

We will NEVER see Degsy back on Most Haunted. No amount of money could heal that rift, also keep in mind they dont have big bucks to throw about anyway

I will say never, Antix are a small production company who have been on the verge of bancruptcy a few times in the past few years.
They would struggle to get much money out of any commission from anyone other than ITV2, and even then it wouldn't be much. Derek would never work with them, he has millions in the bank

What did everyone think to it's eventual return last year? It has returned in the form of an online series, which is apparently nothing to do with the fact that no tv company will actually take them on.. but is because they wanted to reach a wider audience. I looked forward to it's return as Karl had said he wanted no mediums and that it would be on a Freeview channel, however, after two years of talks they brought it back as the online series...extremely poor in my opinion, badly edited and not as professional as other web series out there like Ghostlands. Also, there was a charge for the series and there were supposed to be new episodes put up each month, but they put three up at the same time last year and after that it became 'in the edit' month after month. I reckon it should be left to die now.

I was told by a source it was a huge disappointment as they expected thousands, and got only hundreds, meaning overall they didn't make any money on the show.
