Interesting how the UK media is desperately trying to blame everyone else for the Horsemeat scandal except the companies who actually sold it. First it was blaming the Romanians, then the Polish and now the Russians.
If you are gonna buy cheap meat from other countries, then it is your responsibility to check you are getting what you paid for, if supermarkets and British food companies concentrated on buying British made food from local farms etc, then you wouldn't have this problem, but the desperation to be the cheapest drives the likes of Tesco, Aldi etc on to take short cuts.
So why isn't the British media demanding answers from the likes of Findus Foods, or Asda etc, and instead concentrating on foreign abattoirs, oh yeahs that right cause these companies ADVERTISE and pay money to the UK media!
Don't blame the Romanians, Polish and Russians for what is a British based problem based on greed and short cuts!
My advice to the average person is, if you want meat, go to your local INDEPENDENT butchers where you can actually get to know the butcher by name, in fact avoid all mass produced, processed foods altogether, because you simply do not know what you are eating!
Also AVOID all food marked as Halal, as that is even worse, they cut the poor animals throats, hang them upside down and let them endure a slow painful death, while some idiot is on his knees praying to a god that does not exist!
