Is there such a thing as a "good psychic"?

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. First post. It's great that you are exposing charlatans and frauds. But I wondered: is the general view of this board that psychics and clairvoyants are basically employing cold reading tricks?

Or are there genuine operators?

I try to look at things a little different. What I believe or don't believe is not important, all that is important is the facts. Historical and scientific facts that can be analysed and understood.
And right now on February 12th 2018 as I write this, the facts tell us the following.
100% of psychics/mediums fail 100% of the time in credible scientific tests when the chance to cheat is removed, no anomalies, no exceptions. 100% failure rate.

Are all psychics etc employing cold reading tricks, no, because cold reading is very much a catch all term.
Some psychics will use prior research (hot reading), cold reading really just means that the psychic has not met the person before, they are meeting them "cold", the methods they actually use are countless.

Some psychics/mediums really do believe what they do is real, but like i said when you put strict controls in place, they fail every time.

So you have to be careful not to just label everyone a fraud, as sometimes they are not frauds, they are just deluded.

Have you ever seen those people who claim to have magnetic skin, and they have spoons, forks saucepans etc put on them and they stick.
Those people are not frauds, but clearly they are also not magnetic, they are just misinformed as to what is going on.
And a control that can be put in place which instantly rendered their powers useless is talc on their skin.

So as of right now, it is statistically improbable that a real psychic lives or has lived in history, due to there being a 100% failure rate.
