The Canadian: CHILE - Inexplicata: The Journal of Hispanic Ufology reports in its 7 February 2007 Edition that Chilean Army Discloses Recordings and Secret Contacts with UFOs.
The evidence was presented before one thousand people at the 10th International UFO Congress, which highlighted a video taken seven years ago, showing moments in which Navy vessels and helicopters pursue a UFO that was even picked up on radar.
Santiago de Chile - The Chilean Army revealed to the UFO community classified material regarding recordings and encounters between the military and UFOs over the past 30 years, according to the El Mercurio newspaper in early February 2007. The evidence was presented at the 10th International UFO Congress, highlighting the display of a video that captures a UFO pursuit by surface vessels and helicopters of the Chilean Navy seven years ago, according to Rodrigo Fuenzalida, director of the Agrupacio de Investigaciones Ovnilogicas (AION).
Another pursuit took place on March 27, 2000 when a Citation 2 military aircraft crossed an unidentified flying object, measuring 40 meters in length, at an altitude of 1000 meters and 100 kilometres away from the Chilean capital.
Disclosure of this information was authorized by Oscar Izurieta, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, and forms part of an official investigation undertaken by Rodrigo Bravo, captain of the Army's 5th Division, who participates in the congress, which is being held at the ViƱa del Mar resort 120 kilometres distant from Santiago de Chile.

It wouldnt surprise me if it was just the Americans running black ops over chilean airspace. Ill defer judgment on the 40 meter craft until I see some evidence for that though.

at the end of the day its a government, hence they tell you exactly what they both want you hear and what they want you to know..everything else is surplus to requirements. if they are actualy giving anything away in respect of information then there is obviously going to be a reason for them doing that. they arnt going to do anything for absolutely no reason whatsoever

Though you can't judge all governments the same... We all know the U.S. has probably the most corrupt Government on this planet...and to believe anything in the slightest they say is madness. Though I do think smaller Governments are happy to disclose certain truths if they do not compromise the defence of the Country... So would believe most of the disclosure above...see no reason to really doubt it as it doesn't disclose too much information.

still not sure what they think they are going to get out of the disclosure. apart from that they are not realy famed for their disclosure on the human rights field, perhaps broadening out in to the rights of space men. all i meant by the previous post was that they have not exactly filled people with open mindedness and freedoms of speech previously so why start now in an area such as that?

This is what I find strange.. There are many U.F.O. disclosures coming out at the moment, from Brazil, the U.S.,U.K... and others... Why now?? And why so many in such a short space of time.. Either they want to put lid on it once and for all..Though the above doesn't really do that..and the Brazilian and Mexican government reports don't either.. Or something is afoot..I just wonder what.

Or they leak this stuff out when they have something else that they want to keep private. Remember the famous email on September 11th? - 'today would be a good day to bury bad news'. So the media will be full of the UFO story, and may overlook, or not have time for, any other news released by the government on the same day. I dunno if this is what happened or not, just anothr possibility.

does make you wonder though what the possibilities are of chile wanting to cover something up to the extent of this type of sudden disclosure. most people are aware of the type of history they have in relation to military and political agendas, but no doubt time will tell what if anything they may be possibly trying to either cover up or deffer to a later time.?

I think that there is a concerted effort to slowly get people used to the idea of extra terrestrial life and there will be a drip drip drip of information getting the world used to the idea,.

Before INVASION, SLAVERY AND DEEEATHHH... Certainly be a startling turn of events if true (not the invasion, slavery, death bit, that would be a pain... :

Ka-BOOM! ;D So true, to be fair they were in a trojan horse situation...but you would think that a craft that "crashed in the 50's" would stand out to the aliens, kind of like trying to get into a Ferrari owners rally driving a Ford Anglia... Bahh I think I need to get out more

It would have to be the American members of this forum who actually committed the actions which led to the downfall of the aliens. We all know that it is the Americans who always save the day.
