A friend of mine just emailed me to say they had recieved an message via myspace from Iain Cash of Most Haunted fame. The message reads:
"Hiya I am getting in touch with you because you are part of a paranormal group that is interested in the search for all things paranormal and ghosts. The reason is, I am currently putting together a documentary idea for television broadcast. It is going to be about the rise in popularity in paranormal groups since such shows as Most Haunted have been on the TV. I want to look at what goes on with Paranormal groups, some of the mishaps that have happened on your nights out, have any fights ever broken out, are they are rivalry between yourselves and other paranormal groups, Do you have to fight over haunted locations, has anything ever been broken in the dark when you couldn’t see where you have going, have you ever caught any body getting up to anything they shouldn’t when the lights have gone out. I want to see the underside of the paranormal groups and see what happens when the lights really goes out. If you could think of any decent stories that you know or know of please could you drop me a line, you can get me through my myspace page here. Thank you very much for all your time Cheers Iain Cash"
Are they serious? They are going to do a programme on the damage they have caused?

I think this is just going to be a program all about dishing the dirt on the paranormal field, like some sort of visual national inquirer or the paranormal. I would advise you to steer well clear of this. There will be a lot of recriminations for anyone who takes part. Iain Cash would know this well and would appear to be trying to use people to provide titillating content for his hideous idea.

I would never get involved in something like this, plus they didn't contact me - but a friend of mine who is founder of another local investigation team. I get the feeling that it is just going to be an excuse for all out bitching between teams.
I can see it now...

Sorry, but what a rubbish idea and one that will only hurt paranormal investigation immensely.
Let's show how these people who're trying to collect evidence in the most controversial research field going that they're backbiting, immature, faking children. That'll give it some credibility."
There should be programs out there that show the professionalism of paranormal investigation. Showing the right equipment, right frame of mind and right attitude when spending time. Showing the correct protocols and how to be able to differentiate natural occurances against the more unexplainable phenomena.

Its just s*itstir TV, there is no other logical reason for it. ANyone who would take part in this would be ostracised by the community.

Plenty of teams will see it as a chance to get their five minutes of glory, and bitch about the people they hate.
I wonder if any teams from wiltshire will appear on there....the only ones I can think of that would be likely to stoop that low had better not....or my ears will be constantly burning...

I have an investigation team and we are often approached by tv companies. I always ask who has editing rights for the footage before even agreeing to talk to them. If I can't be in control of the editing, then I wont even enter itno negotiations.

We never get contacted by tv companies, but rather radio networks, but we tend to decline when we find out more about what the discussion is going to be about.

I think you're thinking of Fred Batt.
Iain is a cameraman, used to be an assistant on MH. They call him Wigan because he's from Wigan.

There are a few in Kent that I know of who would jump at the 5 mins of fame!

I want to see the underside of the paranormal groups and see what happens when the lights really goes out. Hang on... Iain Cash, having worked on Most Haunted, doesn't know what happens when the lights go out? Can't anyone just send him Stuarts and Karls email address?
