OH MY GOSH! I have just opened up my local weekly newpaper "The Wiltshire Times" and there is a really scary story in there.
it says: "Nina Knowland, 54, a staverton-based healer with 20 years experience is looking for children with cystic fibrosis to see if her spiritual healing can help them. Her Odyssey "point of light" Healing Centre is in (blah de blah de blah) and can b3 reached one (blah de blah be blah)"
That is awful. Her healing place is in the next town across from mine. What is parents of children who suffer from cystic fibrosis are given false hope?!

IF you had the ability to cure cancer - would you charge? I most certainly wouldn't - I'd work day and night to cure as many people as I could continually, sod a £30 charge.

So lets get a load of severley disabled children, give them and their family false hope, take their money and then leave them destroyed.
People like this are truly the sickest of the sick

Another Victoria Lowe by the sounds of it. Helped by a magazine (New Woman) who wrote about her saying she had said ‘Seriously, my blog heals hundreds of people everyday.’
A few have died of cancer after going to this type of person, (not her personally) abandoning conventional treatments they rely on what these people say. It is disgusting.
Victoria uses Reiki as a mean to cure and as the National Council Against Health Fraud says: ‘There is no evidence that clinical Reiki's effects are due to anything other than suggestion, or that they are superior to massage or any other healing ritual.’
As this particular woman (Nina) is offering therapy to CF sufferes isn't she in effect just going to do what paitents have done daily:
If you have cystic fibrosis you will need daily chest physiotherapy, which involves vigorous massage to help loosen the sticky mucus. Parents of a child with cystic fibrosis are taught by hospital staff how to do this. Older children and adults with cystic fibrosis can be taught to do this for themselves.
Really, any parent who uses this kind of person as a sole therapy for any ailment in their child or themselves need investigating!

www.wiltshiretimes.co.uk/news/picturegalleries/wellbeing/Picture of her and as I thought, Reiki is in there somewhere. Can't find the story online though. Please note the caption: Nina Knowland, Spiritual Surgeon and Janet Doran, Reiki Master with their American Tepee. Perhaps I am being a bit picky but what right has this type of person to name themselves 'surgeon'. After all the meaning of surgeon is: a physician who specializes in surgery. Surely if you can't call yourself a 'doctor' without the right credentials you shouldn't be able to call yourself a 'surgeon'. Isn't it misleading or does the Spiritual part at the start even it out?

This is appalling, and I think she may be breaking the law by claiming the ability to cure cancer. I suggest that we should all get in touch with the Wiltshire Times and the local health authority.

Oh brilliant healers now claiming they can cure cancer...yeah right it has taken scientists years to find cures and treatments for some cancers and even that isnt guarranteed !!
I hate those that give false hopes, I realy do... Ive had healing for a bad back for which I have suffered for many years, but I also went in knowing it WASNT a cure and yes it did work, but it only works for short periods of time and yes I agree it does help if your open minded about it and willing to give it ago.
Healing does cure, it can help to ease symptoms, help you to relax which in turn also helps the medication to work quicker but it is not a FLIPPIN cure....and just to add Ive never paid for healing once !!!
People with these disabilities wont be cured by a healer, if they could be then sack all the scientists and medical proffession..then sit back and see just how long the human race lasts.
This healer needs shooting !!!

Just emailed this to the editor. See what he says
Hi My name is Jon and I represent BadPsychics.com Recently it was brought to our attention an article in your newspaper
"Nina Knowland, 54, a staverton-based healer with 20 years experience is looking for children with cystic fibrosis to see if her spiritual healing can help them."
This person on their website claims they can cure Cancer, MS, Ahstma, Broken Bones, Nerve Damage.
This woman claims to be a Spiritual Surgeon.
Upon further investigation, of her and her claims, we have no doubt that she is infact breaking the law.
She is claiming to cure cancer for gods sake.
You are giving this person advertisement in your publication, and I would like an official response from you as to her claims and your papers support for them.
We will be reporting her, to your local health authority, as well as trading standards.
So an official statement by you would be helpful so we can know your stance on such people.
Regards Jon

It will be interesting to see what they say, I sent an email to the lady in question asking her why she is advertising for parents of severely ill children to approach her for help, and I asked if she thought this was unresponsible of her.
It will be interesting to see how she defends herself in the email, which I haven't recieved yet, even though she claims on her website that she checks her emails throughout the day.

Folks, you may also like to get in touch with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust - enquiries@cft.org.uk
People like Knowland make my blood boil (I wonder if she can cure that as well?!)
Hayley, do you have the e-mail address of your local Health Authority (or the one which covers the location of this so-called "healing centre"?

Personally if I had cancer I'd pay £30 but only after it had been cured and if she believed in her own powers then she wouldn't take payment until then either.
