Have the psychics who have talked to beings on the "other side" revealed to us what the after life is like ?
All I can recall hearing is platitudes like: "It's nice here, we're all very happy, your Uncle Ernie is with us."
So have the psychics revealed to us any facts of the afterlife ?
And is there a difference between those who can only communicate with spirits trapped on Earth and those who can talk to the other side ?

I bought a book once called: 'The Truth,' but I cannot recall who wrote it - I think it was the psychic who used to be a hairdresser - he featured on tv some years back. When I bought the book it was because I belived in him and wanted to read about heaven...
Let's just say that reading the book helped to plant seeds of doubt. Vague and padded with irrelevence, it wasn't what *I* would write if I had seen heaven.

I think this is one of these questions that we shall never truly know until we are there.
We all have ideas of what Life is like after death. We can all read books about this, and listen to other peoples opinions, but this is all they are opinions, as I doubt anyone can actually say what its like til we get there

That's right Shazzz, there will come a day when I find out for myself !
But in the meantime (however long that may be) I am interested in those who talk to the souls who are already there.
But perhaps the dead don't know what's going on, anymore than we know why we are here ? Sorry I cannot explain that any better...
There seems to be a view that when you pass over to the other side you get to meet anyone and all your questions are answered. Perhaps the dead are just muddling through "life" like we are, trying to find out where they are, why they are there and wondering what comes next.
I can better rationalise communications from spirits if the mediums are only speaking to Earth bound spirits, those who have not yet reached the "other side".

Its a tough one aint it
As you have people that belive that when you die you come back as something else or someone else.. Now if you do this, then im assuming that you wont go to heaven at all and be with loved one

I do like the old Achieving Enlightenment idea: We are sent to Earth to achieve something in particular. Then when we die we are given the option to come back again. If we failed in our objective we try it again in another life. If we succeeded we can go on to some other objective. Eventually, after several "lives", we achieve enlightenment and can move onto a higher plane.
Well, it would give life some meaning, but I have no particular reason to believe it.

It would be nice Hkev. I like that one theory as well...
Like this life we are living now is mearly just one peice of a puzzle, kind of like a Jigsaw. Where you have to put all your lives together to make the end result complete....

If it exists, then maybe to begin with you rest and recover from your death, this is done with a person you knew who has been there a while who explains how things are. You probably then have to spend some time going over the major events in your life and see for yourself how you could have done things differently. Then when you are ready you decide what you want to do next. the other posssibility is that going in to the light is actually you moving immediately into another body and the light is the first time you see light after being born. Of course it could all be cobblers and when we are gone we are gone and thats it. i hope there is something more after death but will happily wait. Im actually more worried about being buried alive, that is too scary to think about.

Trying to start a debate, but OK folks, looks like the forum is closed for discussion from now on... Really, sebate. So i or another medium spend years looking at this matter, research, thought and debate but you expect us just to splurge it all out when asked. Hence come to a debate with knowledge and debate a point from there. Not expect a answer to a general question on a huge subject. Right side of the bed as well.

Would have been a lot quicker just to say "I have no idea what the afterlife is like".............

I think from all I have read from alleged communications from the other side, we all go to the other side regardless of belief or non belief. If we have had a traumatic death, we spend a considerable time in a kind or rest place or hospital if you like until we are suitably ready to face the spiritual life. We all basically end up in a place which suits our spirit development as the book excerp points out. We go where we deserve to be in other words but always have the chance to go to higher states when we are ready. reincarnation appears to be a shady issue but some believe we can come back and live different lives, often with our soulmates, These soulmates could have experienced many past lives with you whether as parents, siblings friends or even enemies so it is in essence a group soul evolving and learning. Sometimes in life, there are people we instinctively like immediately and many we don't like for some reason. Once we have learned all we need to know on Earth plane we are ready to move upwards to a higher level or higher spiritual plane.
So..this is about what I have learned in an diluted fashion from all the various books and tv accounts. I would reccomend though that people whether sceptical or otherwise to look up these books in libraries and at least read with something resembling an open mind.

Why is it that we have no memory of these past lives Why is it we do not know if there is an after life Why is we do not know what the after life is like

Something deeper than just Deja-Vu or having seen the places on TV.

Why no memory of what "heaven" (for the want of a better word) was like
