Question - What does a banana have that makes it decompose better than an apple, when it is put in a room with the temperature at 20 degrees celcius? --------------------------------------- Apples are slightly acidic so that helps slow decomposition compared to bananas, which are also softer and ripen best at room temperature.

I had a really informative email waiting for me when I got in tonight. Apparently there was a bit of a rush to go to press without doing some basic checks. After the initial publicity two samples were sent for testing, and one came back with "atomic bomb carbon of 150% " which kind of blows the theory that it was Tudor. I always thought bananas were healthy!
