I love Shirley Ghostman!!!
Not enough people saw this series, I believe it was meant to be screened on bbc1 or 2 after bbc3 but it never happened, was it something to do with Shirley's appearence on Johnathon Ross?

The problem with that show was that it was a brilliant sketch but never had enough substance to be a series. I got bored after the first episode, but the first one was funny.

They're talking in another thread about an "arse-reading psychic", but I seem to recall that a real one appeared on "High Spirits", apparently hoaxed by one of "Shirley's" other characters as an interested student of the er, "art."

I'd never seen him before - fantastic! Hope it gets shown on Australian TV sometime. Channelling Princess Di was hilarious! I can't believe the faces of the audience - where did they dig those people up??!!

Did you know that before High Spirits was actually aired, there was a load of people on the MH forum who had gone to see Shirley Ghostman, and of course fell for it hook line and sinker, they were moaning abouthow they had been conned and how upset they were lol. No wonder Derek Acorah is laughing all the way to the bank with such gullible idiots

I've got the SG dvd and I can honestly say it's hilarious,I agree with what someone said about his appearance on Jon Ross.It went down like a lead balloon, but if you'd already seen the show on bbc3 you knew what SG was like.Unfortunately the bbc1 mainstream audience didnt get the joke. This means that a lot of people missed out on some fantastic comedy moments...Shirley...you are a genius!! ;D

OMG Jon is that true?! How could they ever believe that he's serious LOL I've never seen him before apart from the odd clip on TV and it's just soooo obvious his taking the piss.
So are all the audiences on his shows believing he's real?

Yes the people in the audience all thought it was real. This is how dumb some believers are The funny thing was that pretty much all of the audience were MH fans and Acorah fans

I gather that the various "woos" (male Wiccan, lady who taught shamanistic dance, arse-reading fortune-teller, etc.) were supposedly real people who were duped by "High Spirits", but were the people who took part in the "School for Psychics" segments dupes or actors? Just curious.

Astonishing! Says something about the culture of the paranormal over there, where even a hoax is taken for real.

Anyone who is going to use the stagename 'ghostman' is either enjoying being fake, or is off their medication. For all the fakes in the world, he's definatly the most entertaining. My favourite moment has to be when he was 'channeling' princess Diana. How could anyone believe this guy is psychic? If there were shows like this here in Canada, I'd watch more television.
