I do not know if he is a real parapsychologist, but I doubt it. Anybody can use the title, it means nothing. The work you produce defines your ability, not the title itself. He seems rather silly to me.

Since it is an official qualification then surely it's a bit naughty to call yourself that if you don't possess the grade? It'd be like calling yourself a Doctor or something because you've watched a lot of Casuality.

Its only an official title when offered by an accredited educational body. May I refer you to the useless and shady world of online accreditation. www.parapsych.org.uk/Where you can get the luxurious [M.Inst.F.P.] after your name ,which simply means : Member of the Institute of Forensic Parapsychology. It is not worth the virtual paper it is printed upon.

Are there no universities that teach Parapsychology? The University of Edinburgh has something I think.

It seems to me that to learn parapsychology is as much use as learning religious education in schools. I mean what's the point?

It seems to me that to learn parapsychology is as much use as learning religious education in schools. I mean what's the point? Its an interesting subject, it looks for natural explanations for allegedly unnatural occurances. A lot of it is to do with "mind science" and how people can believe erroneous things based on certain criteria.

Anyone fancy writing something about this show?

What do you mean? pick it to pieces, dissect it, sample it and then regurgitate it and then tell you it is still CRAP....

In what particular aspect? The psychological aspects of the show or just how damn appalling it is in relation of paranormal investigation?

If you look at the show in a scientific way, it's total crap.
However, if you watch it as a comedy, it's a scream.
I never laughed so much as when that piece Johnnie ran from the first episode straight after commenting (can't remember exact words) something like 'this is deeply disturbing, don't want to leave them' and then cuts and runs. Boy, did I laugh.
AND those poor buggers, being terrified by that Ian guy to go into a room, that he's told them there's an evil ghost lurking - they may never recover.
It was like watching 'Scary Movie'

You know, I watched it again tonight, and yeah, it was still funny cos it is crap. However I was watching how that Ian terrifies these people - and it made me a bit uncomfortable because he was obviously dealing with people that weren't the most brilliant or quick minded. And Ian's behaviour made me think of a form of brain washing. I would love for someone who investigates and deals with brain washing to watch this programme and to see this guy in action because I think that's what this guy is doing to these misguided people.

Wow, you couldn't tell that those people had watched Most Haunted, could you! Especially the "Ian, come forward" stuff!
Again, utter rubbish. Nothing but psychological scaremongering. When they were doing the Ouija - as the table fell did anybody else see it jerk away from the bloke before it collapsed. Could be misconstrued as a push...
The slanging match at the end and the 'possession' were just cringeworthy. God, it was embarrassing!

Im very suspicious of tonights programme?
I think Ian Lawman knew these people before, can't tell you why, but call it gut feeling. He knew Grimbsy very well as you saw him driving his car through town. The couple on there tonight seem to me to be woo merchants and also me knowing the area quite well, I thought it strange that when she ran out of the house why did she run out into the street, Im sure she probably told all her neighbours beforehand that they were to appear on a tv programme, oh and does anybody know do you get paid to appear on a programme like this?

i don't know if they get paid but mr lawman's car itself could buy a small house. this time they went back after 2 days, closed the case and miraculously the family moved anyway. i've never really classed these programmes as entertaining (given that they usually just bug you with all the drama) until last night. the womans partner was camcording (lights off, etc,) at night. suddenly lights went on and he's yelling about things shaking, etc. of course we thought how pathetic he was until the guy was talking the morning after. he hadn't realised that there was the earthquake and i was in hysterics. he was genuinely terrified but not through anything paranormal. that was true entertainment. ;D ;D

Yeah I thought that was funny with the earthquake. My sister lives in Cleethorpes which is only 5 minutes away and I remember her saying back in February how serious it was, her house shook quite bad. I just can't believe how gullible these people are on this show, surely they won't be making another series of this!

i hope not traceyg. i can't understand their gullibility with all the information and facts out there nowadays. i still hope that there is some truth in the paranormal but that doesn't mean i believe what these dreadful shows are giving us. not one family so far have questioned what ian lawman and his sidekick does. it proves to me that they filter families like this out in order to get maximum effect. i really do believe they're insulting our intelligences. i know you can always turn onto another channel but i'm just fascinated by what i see. talk about taking advantage.

It just goes to show really. On the night he was "100% certain" that what had happened to him was a pure paranormal experience, saying how someone had definitely held onto the bed and shaken it.
Then we found it had a rational explanation.

saying how someone had definitely held onto the bed and shaken it. Then we found it had a rational explanation. exactly, personally i would have edited it out simply because it does just that. mind you other people might now think mmmmm nothing on here is what it seems!
