I saw enough of him on the old James Randi tape I found. Can't believe he's still peddling his primitive claptrap.

I watched it (unfortunately) though it did have some comedy value. This man is clearly deluded. Those camera blurred images were laughable at best, oh look there is a streak of light it must be the second coming!.
;D

JAMES RANDI : Psychic Investigator (1991)
EPISODE 3 - PSYCHIC HEALING.
RANDI: "In our search for healers we met Mr Stephen Turoff. We visited him at home were he sees up to twenty patients a day."
A certificate is shown saying that Turoff is a HEALER MEMBER of the NATIONAL FEDERATION OF SPIRITUAL HEALERS.
TUROFF (PSYCHIC SURGEON): "I'm a carpenter and joiner and I swear to you I know nothing about the medical profession. It started about 18-19 years ago, I started to develop this gift of psychic healing. What I do is a bit different obviously, doing things that the medical profession can't do. Dr Kahn himself started to manifest on July 10th 1985, the first time he came through. I've done thousand of the operations, or Dr Kahn has, and I've never lost anyone yet ! Dr Kahn will tell you that you can get no infection from what he does, he can cut you open with a rusty knife and you will get no infection."
We see clippings from newspapers "SUPERNATURAL HEALTH SERVICE - Ghost surgeons amazing ops" "Steve operates for Spaniards" and various scissors, scalpels and medical implements.
We then see an operation on a lady who has cancer. Stephen speaking in a "German" accent introduces himself as Dr Kahn and agrees to be filmed. He starts to make a small incision in her back (covered by his fingers), puts a needle into the hole and seems to suck on the end of it. Says the he is drawing out negative energy. He places something on her back lights it with a match the places a small glass over it. The glass is covered with a towel (he says it must be covered from the camera but does not explain why) When the glass is lifted he removes a small bloody mass: "It is out, that is the clot and you see the opening is closed it is gone." "Healing has always been there, since time immemorial. There is nothing for anyone to lose from seeing a healer. They may go away with the pain they came in with but their spirit has been touched."
Another operation starts with a man received an injection at the side of his mouth. Turoff has nothing in his hand. "I will give you a small injection. These you do not see they are called (unintelligible) injections." He mimes the movement of giving an injection. A pair of scissors wrapped in paper are now inserted into the patients left nostril.
"People who come to me are people who the hospital can do no more for. I am able to do this because of the power within, so you should not go sticking scissors up peoples noses."
Back to James Randi and Stephen Turoff in the studio.
Randi:"What we have seen is a medieval practice called Wet-Cupping. It's obsolete now, at one time it was thought to be useful but is now known to be quite useless. The other process seems to be sticking clamps all the way into the nasal cavities. What does it accomplish ?"
Turoff:"I don't do it. Dr Kahn does it."
Randi:"You are the one who collects the money, you are paid for this service ?"
Turoff:"Correct."
Dr Natalie MacDonald (British Medical Association) expresses concern that Mr Turoff says he can cure cancer and that may stop people seeking normal medical treatment.
Turoff:"People come to me after a Doctor and a hospital can do no more for them, can offer them no hope. Cures have happened ."
MacDonald:"Do you have the medical evidence that they had cancer ?"
Turoff:"Yes, one chap was told by a consultant that he had a tumor, on the spine, incurable, could not operate, had not long to live. Dr Khan came through, operated on him, worked on him, the man felt immediate improvement. The next day he went to the hospital the consultant checked him, tested him and the tumor had gone."
MacDonald:"I have not seen that evidence."
Turoff:"No, because they have not shown you it."
Randi introduces Dr Margot Brazier from Manchester University to discuss what legal matters these operations may raise.
Brazier:"It's not a criminal offence to practice medicine with no qualifications. Even a tiny wound or cut could be regarded as an assault. The consent of the victim is immaterial unless it's a lawful exception, this includes 'reasonable surgical interference'. If there was ever a court case the court would have to decide if psychic surgery is 'reasonable surgical interference.' "
Randi says that adults can choose but parents have a legal obligation to provide their children with medical care. He then introduces Carol Mcmillan who takes her 14 year old son regularly to Turoff for treatment. He asks if the legal argument would make her change.
McMillan:"No, I'll always take my son to see Mr Turoff."
Another audience members says her son has cerebral palsy (he is in his thirties) he was operated on by Turoff and is now perfectly well and fit.
Dr Dorothy Rowe (Criminal Psychologist):"What happens is not magic, sometimes the healer just gives the person permission to get better, permission they did not have before. Sometimes it's a very temporary healing."
Fru Jaggard (Healer):"It's time we conducted a scientific study, but it's made impossible by the prejudice of those who believe it's dangerous or that it's abusing those who are vulnerable. I don't disagree with those points, but what you're missing is that if as I believe healing has something genuine to offer it will alleviate suffering. I'm sure it saves lives in some cases. I'll offer my services to any casualty department in the land if you can find one with the guts to take me on. My work is not intrusive, I work from 2 inches away from the body. I don't understand what is happening but I do know that it works."
Norman Knight (Healer):"We have received two of Mr Turoffs patients who he said he had healed but both have the problems still there, one with a cancer problem another with a back problem."
Turoff:"I cannot cure everybody I see. I say to anyone I will do what I can to help you."
Rowe:"This is an example of wanting power without responsibility."

I saw this guy , I had to check that this wasnt a spoof "mockumentry". I have never seen a more stereotypical, ex hippie delusional in all of my life, and believe me I know some weird people.
Firstly, what is with the Sai Baba ( another proven fraudster) fixation? He even dressed in the same guady orange robe-ette as his idol..I guess this is better than Elvis but even so...what a total mixture of bulls*it belief systems this guy spewed, if one crock of crap wasnt enough he had to go one crazy belief further...outstanding.
I had to turn away at the points envolving his wife, who clearly is very uncomfortable with the whole thing, its a shame she doesnt go one step further herself and have her hubby commited , maybe she is too used to the obviosuly lavish lifestyle they now lead at the expense of the seriously deluded, it was a rather nice touch seeing them arranging the new leather furniture in "Delusion Mansion" , obviously being a major bulls*it artist and fraudster does pay off! . I did mention to my partner if ever we wanted to make a s*it load of cash we could do this...but then we decided we like to be able to sleep at night guilt free....
The point I lost my usual "oh the poor guy just needs a good psychiatrist" stance..was the total rejection of any suggestion by the interviewer that he should meet with any scientists, this was met with a blank refusal...after all his pious bulls*it surely anyone who *really* had these abilities would want to share them for rest of humanity..but then again anyone who was really able to do these things wouldnt be charging £25 per 5 minute session either... oh and the pictures...Im amazed that photo processing companies throughout the country arent churning out proof of the divine skydaddy more often seeing as apparently all it takes for such proof is a shakey digital camera and poor lighting...
The interviews with his "patients", all of them were singing this guys praise about his healing ability, curing them of cancer and other diseases AFTER they had received extensive treatment from conventional medicine!!!!! 0.o
The most disturbing aspect of this whole sad programme was the "messiah" delusion this poor mentally ill person has, ..actually Im not sure if this disturbs me more than the sheep that blindly follow him in Croatia?
The mecury was about to be ejected from the cringe-o-meter at this point but I stuck with it to the end.

I watched it,first time i have logged on since than though. First thing is i would love to be one pound behind him in the bank. I have no reason to believe in any kind of psychic surgery and he did nothing to change my mind. He talked a good talk but i feel he is so up his own arse he thinks he is the next incarnation of Christ,it just hasn't happened yet. The pic he showed of the holy mother " appearing" on his head. Give me a break,a fake and a crap one. Looked like a pic of a statue plonked on top of his pic. He has created a nice income and he is just feeding the myth. I do recall one patient swearing that he had healed her,a miracle, the doctors were amazed, sounded good if there was a diagnosis,X ray's etc. Then she mentioned that she thought that the chemo had helped. Thats when i gave up and when i saw his pilgrimage to a cave. Another nice little earner

That's brilliant, but I bet the continuity announcer didn't say it before the show ! "This eye-opening series delves into the world of fake psychics and peddlers of miracle cures and follows some of the self proclaimed healers as they tout their dubious talent."
