Update: Noreen Renier is the only psychic to have lectured at the FBI and been "sanctioned" by a senior FBI official, including referencing Renier to dozens of national and international law enforcement personnel. Renier has appeared on the Court TV series 'Psychic Detectives' eleven times and is generally recognized as among the top 3 living international police psychics. Skeptic writer John Merrell (who co-founded in 1982 Northwest Skeptics, now disbanded) sued Renier in a U.S. state court in 2005 for a breach in a Florida state settlement agreement signed by Renier. Merrell had originally lost a libel suit (the only libel suit against a skeptic won by a psychic) in 1986. However, in November 2006 --- 20 years later --- a Washington federal court ruled in Merrell's favor, ordering a judgment against Renier for breaching the settlement agreement with her authorship of her book 'A Mind for Murder' published by Berkley/Putnam. The publisher withdrew the book internationally in late 2005 and after Renier also had her counterclaims tossed out by the court, Renier agreed in early 2007 to have a "bench court" decision (no jury, no arbitrator), with the federal judge making the final determination as to the amount of damages for Merrell. That courtroom decision is now set for February 6, 2007. A full update on the case, as well as an examination of Renier's claims about finding a crashed aircraft and the events of four passengers is extensively reviewed at www.amindformurder.com We will continue to keep everyone updated on the web site. Thank you.
