Uri Says:
Does anyone else think that this is the typical statement of a narcissist?
Diagnostic Criteria:
1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance 2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love 3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by other special people 4. requires excessive admiration 5. strong sense of entitlement 6. takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends 7. lacks empathy 8. is often envious or believes others are envious of him or her 9. arrogant affect.
Makes you wonder...

It is a very narcissistic statement, and without knowing him personally but knowing about him as a person, I'd say it's likely he would meet most of the other criteria listed above. I think fraudulent mediums, psychics and magicians must have a complete lack of empathy. Theytrick people and rip them off (in his case for over 30 years) and yet still manage to sleep at night.

That's a really interesting statement Skepto...I wonder if it could be argued that the people you have mentioned could actually be displaying symptoms of a sociopathic disorder.
