His books:
Flim-Flam!, 1982, Prometheus Books, ISBN 0-87975-198-3 The Magic of Uri Geller, 1982, ISBN 0-345-24796-5 (later renamed The Truth About Uri Geller ISBN 0-87975-199-1) The Faith Healers, 1987, Prometheus Books, ISBN 0-87975-369-2. (ISBN 0-87975-535-0 1989 edition) (Foreword by Carl Sagan) The Mask of Nostradamus: The Prophecies of the World's Most Famous Seer, 1990, Charles Scribner's Sons ISBN 0-684-19056-7 or ISBN 0-87975-830-9. Conjuring, 1992 An Encyclopedia of Claims, Frauds, and Hoaxes of the Occult and Supernatural, 1995, St. Martin's Press ISBN 0-312-15119-5 (Online Version) James Randi: Psychic Investigator, 1991, ISBN 1-85283-144-8
Do any of these book lack educational value? With the exception of the Geller book not one of these specifically is aimed at any one medium or psychic is it?

Here we go again - the same old roller- coaster. It doesn't matter Jon how many ways you put it, the ''Believers'' will always go on the defensive and attack Randi. Let's just stop faffing around with this one - not one medium has ever been able to 'prove' any kind of ability to communicate with the dead - Randi knows the tricks of the trade - he is simply putting the mediums' claims to the test (or would like to, given the chance). It's for the claimants of abilities to prove the truth - not the accuser of fraud!

But making money out of exposing the frauds is not a bad thing surely? If people by his books, then he is helping to stop them getting conned. He makes his money from an honest living that is the difference Jon have you ever thought of writing a book on exposing fraudulent mediums? it might make a good read, hey i'd buy it lol Lol, we have been writing the BadPsychics book now for over a year. VERY VERY slow going

The point i was making Jon is Randi knows he is on a win win path. Not sure how saying that i have messed up. Unless you are simply doing the usaul, ignore any inconvient points and attack the other person. I was pointing out the irony of how sceptics smugly laugh at the woo, woos who follow the career of mediums and bleat on about the money being made, while all the time promoting Randi who is making pots of money out of the challenge. ;D Way more then he ever would as a magic man. You knows maybe Derek's test will be his swan song. His inheritance for his family, the last lick of the honey pot before he snuffs it. Maybe this time he will allow a fair test and Derek will win. Who knows what will rule in Randi's mind. His greed and love of cash or his insane pride and need never to be proved wrong. Anyway we are just going around in circles as we did less then 6/8 weeks ago. Lets find something else to argue about. The bearded poison dwarf bore me.

I am curious LR, how you know that Randi makes so much money?
He has a few books, but other than that he doesnt actualy do much.
I doubt he is making as much as you think from his books, afterall some are over 30 years old!!

And finally I have no problem with someone making money from an HONEST living, simple as that.
There is not a single medium or psychic in this country who makes an honest living from their so called paranormal abilities, not one.

He seems in semi retirement now but you only have to look at his suits to know that they are not £ 19.99 from Asda. He is doing ok.

Others do not share it as do others in Randis " honesty".

Give me one example where Randi has been less than honest, show me one complain to any official body regarding Randi. Go on Honesty is a personal conception. I have no doubt that he believes ,or is deluded when he says he has a fair challenge. Go look over the web, there are plenty of sites that point out many examples of Randi " changing the sequence of events" when he has been caught lying. No doubt if there is any doubt then the complainer and not Randi is at fault. He is just a man, puts his pants on one leg at a time so is open to all the usual human foibles such as selective memory. Equally show me an example of a current high profile medium that has had a complaint upheld.

Did you know that the JREF has NEVER had a single complain made about it to the Better Business Bureau in the states.
Sylvia Browne Corporation has had 9 complaints made against it in the last 36 months.
