This game is the reason I haven't been online much recently. It's a First Person Shooter (FPS) set online. There are no games to go through, no levels to achieve and no training sessions. When you load this game you are online and fighting the world.
When you first set up you equip your commando and your mercenary with their weapons of choice, and the choice is huge from shotguns to sub-machine guns, grenades and rocket launchers. Choose your camouflage and which commando team you prefer to be in (I'm in SAS of course (not commando but this is an American companies game)).
There are many types of games to choose from including a frenetic shoot em up to a more stealth and sniper game which is more difficult but is engrossing.
I am totally addicted.
You don't always kill someone in a round and that can get frustrating, the controls take a while to get used to but once your into it, it takes control of your life (well mine anyway).
You can also use your headphone/earpice to co-ordinate and talk to your team-mates so that your faction can win.
There are problems though.
With it being on online game the servers can be a bit tempremental and either freeze the game or cut out completly which is very annoying especially if you are doing well for a change.
I recommend it but if you do get into it be prepared to start an evening session and then suddenly realise its morning.
can you use a mouse /keyboard with this type of game on ps3? I had a mouse for my ps1 and it made DooM much better. While we had to make do with the ps1 controllers for fps games (most of the time),I much prefer a mouse & keyboard.
Online play can be good, but is brilliant when you can find a community that plays together as a team. I still play day of defeat and although the server I play on has some very good players, very few people use their voice comms, (or even type) and teamwork/cooperation is often in short supply - 3 people working together can make a big difference in that game.
