(Did not know where to place this originally, so please do accept my apologies).
I got to thinking, psychologically about the 'paranormal' in certain aspects. Now, what people call the 'ideometer' effect, is intriguing to me, so I will quickly explain what I feel this 'effect' is;
The Ideometer effect
Where a human can make movements and motions with the use of their unconscious mind. For example, the body responds to pain by flinching /jumping in shock, humans can also react to unconcious thoughts in the exact same way. Crying, is a good example of an unconcious reaction (in most cases). Basically, an unconcious reaction is one that we have not thought about.
A Person's body language, these are unconcious reactions, as we do not think about what our signals are giving off. Honest signaling without a person thinking about it, it's an involuntary action, which is very hard to control. So a person can say one thing but their body is telling a different story.
Like playing poker, even the best player can still give off a 'tale tale' body signal, which is different from their 'poker face'.
-------------------------------
So, would this involve our memory too? At the end of the day, Pyschologist believe that you 'do not' forget something, you just didn't listen or file it away in your mind in the first place. What if we filed information in our minds, from years prior that you can't remember about? Our brain is a very complexed and intelligent thing, it has a way of seeping/leaking informational memories out every now and then, even 10 yrs down the line..................this is what can contribute to those 'Deja vou' feelings that you may experience.
So why am I writing a post about this?
I got to thinking, what if a group of people were sitting down at a seance, the ideometer effect can play a role in this, if someone is wanting communication from a past loved one, so much so that their body makes unconcious movements to quesitons asked and then say 'oh, that is my dad' (if this makes sense).
But what if one of these willing participants, watched a detailed documentry of interest years prior? That this documentry was about 'John Doe who was born in 1930 and became the worlds leading scientist, who passed in the 1980's' (EXAMPLE). Then during this seance, their memonry kicks into gear and seeps this little bit of info out...................the person in question, claims to be in contact with a spirit, has a DOB and death, along with a full name for this John Doe.................the person has no prior spiritual experience in past.
Could this happen?
Sorry for the long winded post, just seeing whether or not my thoughts had any kind of sense to them?
