Apparently Yvette is not featuring in the new Channel 5 version of the show, she even sorta confirmed it at the last live at the end when she said The rest of the crew will be back at Halloween but it's goodbye from me and then had a croak in her throat as she said it.
Apparently she wants to concentrate on acting and "other projects" however it's not looking good for most haunted. Firstly Chris Conway whistle blows then, Karl becomes wholly unprofessional slagging him off when he should have stayed quiet and let the legal team deal with it backed up by the devil himself Fred Batt who only seems to appear after dark when his coffin can be opened up.... then the whole live tour was cancelled without reason, Virgin Media are up in arms about them using the Most Haunted name without permission. Lots of things wrong with the BeFe state of affairs in my honest opinion.
Their TV show didn't help them, infact it probably made them more unpopular. The show depicted Yvette slagging off a personal shopper on TV (not nice), various scenes of them spending money like it was going out of fashion. Various scenes of her vulgar glamourpuss mother who seems to think she's younger than Yvette. The whole show was a PR disaster

Thanks for that info jazmincleo, I did not see the last of their live show, and very little of all the other nights efforts. I can not say I will be sorry to see her go, hopefully followed by her other half. M H had gone as far as it could possibly go, they themselves ruined it with all their jiggery pokery, they should have left well alone. I wonder what will replace them, like them or loathe them, it will leave a large gap in the viewing schedule.

The new show could be called `The knocking Show`or `How`s your hearing` or Duck, low flying objects approaching`, or` The Karl and Stuart happy hour`. Gosh one could go on for hours coming up with new names. We could run a competition to see how many we can think up. Hows that for initiative.
Don't think there has been any official announcement that Yvette is leaving. The idea seems to have come from her closing statement on the last night of the live where she says "the team will be back at halloween as for me goodbye " It would'nt surprise me if she does take a step back however when asked earlier in the show if MH ever caught a full bodied apparition on camera (and they werent talking about Cath) would that be the end to it all to which she said no she would always want to continue and keep going. She did say however at one point that during the last live if she at anytime felt uncomfortable or that things were getting out of hand (alluding to their attempts to open some imaginary hellmouth and once again conjour up the "dewil" that she would take off the mic and walk of the show. Didnt see any mic fly across the room or the backend of Fielding ...unlikely anything would bother her now considering what she has been party to on the show in the past.
Eitherway im not entirely sure this rumoured departure isn't still just speculation with a bit of a hint at a step back to come.
As for the show on Five ? Well....I think you'll find it will be a very different kettle of ghouls....something tells me the format will be overhauled by the Five talking heads...the channel boss is apparently more enamoured with getting Yvette on board the channel ...something tells me the viewing figures and almost all encompassing dissent of fans for the shows last live will mean MH is a very different beast in its new incarnation on that channel.
I actually know Lesley Smith personally and have to say she is a truly lovely lady and very friendly and nice. I met her by accident at Tutbury Castle (its not too far away from me) and she invited me along to a few things (not ghost related; about history (my other love). She really is nice and as eccentric as I am, so that's probably why we got on. The only thing I would say is that she's fiercely loyal to her friends and won't let anyone bad mouth Yvette or Karl. She gets quite cross.
I can honestly say she's not the sort to lie and, having lost my own mum two years ago, I would agree that she needs time to adjust to her loss as I know I did. In fact I still struggle without my mum.
So give the lady, and she really is a lady, the benefit of the doubt this one time; and that's me as a cynic speaking.
