Was very disappointed that the hanging of Karl Beattie didn't end up with an actual hanging.
Loved thefact the noose was fake too and just fell apart as he was slowly dropped on the harness

forums.virginmedia.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=vmlvhaunted&tid=13297Cant verify if the poster is genuine although seems a very heartfelt and disgusted plea to not be and no definate reason to think it isnt especially considering the nature of it. It does however serve as a reminder that a shlock stunt in bad taste for viewing figures to one is a very distressing reality in the lives of others ....its needless and utterly pointless inclusion in the show showed zero consideration and was part of a show where a mock hanging is not exactly necessarily expected or wanted by the viewer that tends to tune in be it for enterntainment , comedy or as a casual channel hopper. You may argue why watch it then ? The nature of the stunt was mentioned in the build up ? The fact is this women and many others did watch it , happen upon , flicked over by chance or simply sat agog in disbelief they were even considering it . The most pathetic admission to its clear inclusion for shock only and the obvious admission that they know their audience would include children and teens was Pauls Ross's pathetic and frequent whimperings of "now remember kids dont try this at home"....If they argue that showing this wouldnt encourage a person to do it simply because they seen it on tv then its highly unlikely theyd refrain from doing it either if they had the inclination to simply because Wossy said not to . Regardless of whether or not you think it could or couldnt influence people in that way the point is it HAD no point ...it was gratuitious , sensationalist , utterly without value and neither educated nor entertained anyone who had the misfortune to see it ...with that in mind seems selfishly cruel and idiotic to include it with the obvious knowledge that even one person who has suffered the loss of someone in this way would see it and cause them distress. Shame on the lot of them for so many reasons now its becoming ridiculous. Hello Everyone I was totally disgusted with the show last night. 14 weeks ago i was on holiday and we put my son on the train thursday to come back home as he had work on the Friday. He was his normal joyful happy go lucky as always.Went to work as usual on the Friday and constantly on the phone to myself. Monday i could not contact him as he was not answering his phone. So i asked my 71year old neighbour if he would go check. Imagaine how i felt when i phoned to be confronted by the police. I was told to come home asap but i tried to explain i was 400 miles away. Finally i was told "theres been a slight accident" Imagaine my horror when i found out my 21 year old precious son had commited suicide. I was told my son had HANGED HIMSELF. I turned to the show last night to find them doing an HANGING. I was in tears as it brought back everything to me. How can this set an example to the LIVING PEOPLE. I hope nobody else as had to suffer what i did last night. Please you young people do not do anything as stupid as what Karl did. I really hope that the show will realise how many people it as effected. It isnt the team that have to pick up the pieces like i and many other people have had to do and i hope it never happens to one of their children. Nobody should have to sort out their childs funeral before their own. I think it was a complete disgrace and a stupid thing to do Many Thanks Jan Modified to add the hanging sequence was shown again in the repeat at 6.30pm ...not after the watershed that the original was shown after... Ofcom says - 1.13 Dangerous behaviour, or the portrayal of dangerous behaviour, that is likely to be easily imitable by children in a manner that is harmful: must not be featured in programmes made primarily for children unless there is strong editorial justification; must not be broadcast before the watershed, or when children are particularly likely to be listening, unless there is editorial justification This is where you complain: www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/progs/specific/?itemid=286480

When I heard what they had done I was disgusted. I can remember a while back that the film with Kevin Cosner - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves had been shown pre watershed and that some children who had watched it tried to recreate the hanging scene and accidently killed themselves.
Sure, MHL was post-watershed, but it doesn't make any difference. It was a ridiculous stunt to pull just for effect. I shall be complaining. Thanks Fluffet.

This was one of the worst things I've ever seen on TV. Incredibly tasteless, painful for families of suicide victims, and dangerous as regards young people who might be tempted to give it a try - 'oh, it's only make-believe'. I've done my bit, complaining to ofcom.

TBH after watershed, it had no effect. Parents shouldn't be letting their young kids watch tv that late at night IMO. There were pre-warnings of this experiment taking place throughout the week, as it was stated on their main website of experiments.
Yes, it was silly to do something of that extreme but I don't see people going out and lodging complaints about kids trying to electricute themselves after the Teslar/Faraday cage experiment.
All totally my opinion but it did not phase me (considering I have found a work colleague dead anbd hanging from beams back in 2002).
But I am against LivingTV replaying it before the watershed, that is dispicable!

Lets face it these 2 have obviously got to the point where they will do anything to keep high in the ratings. Not surprised if they do a MH Friday the 13th slasher item, complete with Karl in ski mask chasing Yvette to machete her to pieces, they are beyond contempt. Jans story quoted by fluffet about burieing your children before yourself is a parents nightmare is well said, however unless i'm mistaken the MH duo have no offspring , lets face it, they are to selfish and so up e... o..... a.... that a child would be a distraction wasting time that they would rather lavish on each other.

Having caught a quick glimpse of Karl in the nuddie with a well positioned skate board I can only say it bring a new meaning to HANGING KARL BEATTIE.

Hi Star , Yvette has a boy in his teens called William from a previous marriage and a girl of about 10 or 11 called Mary from her marriage with Karl. Their son from his brief appearances on their "living with" shows appears rather reluctant to be involved with any of their tv opus but their little daughter Mary being younger is often on the show with them and is constantly being egged by Karl to share his interest with the macabre and hammer horror .
Whenever i see Mary its clear that she dotes on her mother and father and them her however the wee love does often seem not untouched by the influences around her in that shes often seen in costumes (darth vader outfit, wizard capes , etc) and i cant help but feel she has more than the usual 10 or 11 years olds interest in the fantasy side of life. All kids like to dress up, all kids develop their little quirks etc but i do often get a sense that the wee things not got the everyday kind of life most 10 or 11 year olds have. Sure shes got a hell of a lot of things they might not have and i dont question the devotion her parents have to her but i do sometimes feel the wee thing is a prime target for bullying and perhaps even exclusion by her peers as a direct result of her parents fame and the nature of their work in tv.
Parents who are so steeped in the whole media business and with such a all encompassing inclusion of the paranormal in their lives with a distinct love of the macabre , a self proclaimed "dark arts" expert round the house , most all of her parents friends involved in the same showbiz/paranormal circuit, a home that is also surrounded with gothic garb and horror memorabillia and paranormal parafanalia.
Perhaps she is sheilded from much of the outside worlds opinions for now but i do actually feel sorry for the wee soul when she has to go to secondary school or get a job out there, shes gonna feel like a total fish out of water.

Hanging would be too good for him ;D I would expect a bit of drawing and quartering too at the very least.

Yvette is to date the youngest ever presenter of Blue Peter also she has won the SOS Award for the Most Popular Woman on Television. And lets face it, we all love to hate Most Haunted!

Yvette's past achievements doesn't have anything to do with her present day project(s). Despite a ruling that most haunted/most haunted live is for entertainment only she still says most haunted isn't faked. Any credibility Yvette had yesteryear has long gone. personally speaking, I've always viewed most haunted for entertainment purposes only. As of a couple of years ago I really can't be bothered with the programme's rubbish. Love to hate? Nah, it's dead easy to hate it.
Edited for oopsy stuff
