I hope it does spell the end of this dreadful programme but if people like yourself and Romany keep watching this 'dreadful programme', then it may last longer and longer.
Your choice of course.

antmania, why so defensive? I've a right to air my opinions whether you agree with them or like them or not. Earlier in this thread you accused me of having a vendetta against MH. I'd like to reverse that (nonsensical) argument now, and ask you, do you have a vendetta against anyone who dares to speak out against this programme? You are very defensive of it - fine, if you are a fan, I've got no problem with that, but you must be prepared to accept that this may skew your opinions on the matter a little if it is true, and you certainly seem to object to anyone having a negative view of it.
If you're not a fan then back off a little bit would you? I've made my points fairly and rationally, I've allowed you to make yours and I've even, on occasion, agreed with you. So I ask again, why so defensive?
Oh and by the way, I'm not trying to influence anyone's 'life choice' in anyway. But the sheer hypocrisy of the whole thing gets to me. In a world where ads can be banned and songs censored (as I referred to earlier) for far less than this, it gets my goat, I admit it, that the Beatties can not only get away with this, but ASSUME they can get away with it. Which of course, they do!
MH cowardly hides behind the 'entertainment only' label which serves much the same purpose as the 'may contain nuts' label on foods (and which might be more appropriate.) They need to be open about what they are, and at least then deceive the people more honestly (in a manner of speaking.) By that I mean, either admit they are hoaxers and actors, crank the possessions and hauntings up big time, give it some real theatre and spend a few quid on special effects so viewers get a little more for their money than distant bumps and endless pointless screaming, OR get rid of all the drama and all the uneccessary hangers on and whodoo and voodoo they do, and get down to some serious investigation with some credible scientific grounding - in other words, get serious. They do neither - they have been having both the penny and the bun for a long time now. Why should they? Or is that another argument agains the programme you are going to object to? I'm entitled to it, regardless.
Modified for appalling spelling.

I am not a fan and like I said earlier havn't watched the programme for a good few years. I am not defensive of Most Haunted in any shape or form and when I decided the show was becoming ridiculous, I simply stopped watching. They still have the right to continue the show of course and people have the right to watch it of course. Why are they gonna admit they are hoaxers when they are making their money from the show and others. Its all about opinions and you are entitled to your's as I am entiltled to respectfully disagree with it.
For the record, I agree with all your misgivings about MH and the Beatties, my only disagreement being that you are feeding the hand that is biting yours by continuing to watch the show

I don't continue to watch anymore. I avoid it wherever possible, I just happened to watch bits of the Live. Why? I don't know really - it's either to see if they're getting any better or to see if they are getting any worse - which they are.
It's not just MH which is guilty of this of course, but I believe they are among the worst offenders.

I think they are all guilty of hoaxing and staging these days. Ghost Hunters when it started seemed to be credible but only in comparison to Most Haunted but they got found out with the coat tug on Grant during the Halloween live show last year then recently Donna who worked on the show exposed them on a radio podcast for staging incidents. Ghost Adventures also has a staging incident in their recent live show with a guest clearly throwing his recorder while claiming it flew out of his hand. To be fair at Least GA did try to address this unlike Ghost Hunters who just go blindly on making bucket loads of cash from gullible viewers.Ghost Adventures is entertaining regardless and I continue watching this. Dead Famous was another I really enjoyed while like Ghost Adventures being full of crap paranormal speaking.
Anyway I think I have said enough and apologies if you have taken my posts the wrong way, it wasn't my intention and I am no trouble maker.

I hope it does spell the end of this dreadful programme but if people like yourself and Romany keep watching this 'dreadful programme', then it may last longer and longer. Your choice of course. Antmania I haven't watch the dross for years..I was merely intrigued by the 'hanging' event so on Sunday I decided to see if any of the recording was either going to be mentioned of some of it used in any way. I was shocked and disgusted when the hanging was repeatedly shown from 6.30pm onwards in full. How can you justify that? You can't get around the fact that it was shown at times when susceptible children were watching. Hanging is a deeply emotive subject that many families do not want to see. And IF it is going to be shown then each time, before it is aired, there should be a warning to turn away or change the channel. The warnings were irrelevant and didn't cover them whatsoever and OFCOM were bang out of order for doing nothing about it. Again we have a freedom to voice our opinions and tried to do it through the right channel with zero effect. Without speaking out, how would dreadful and wrong programmes be removed? OFCOM and MH were in the wrong..not us.

antmania, no offence taken, just a lively discussion that's all. We can disagree and still be respectful of one another - I appreciate that, it's healthy. Besides, it's good to take on board other people's views, however challenging. That's what the forums are for after all!
Have to say I personally thought Dead Famous was diabolical -but each to their own!

It was diabolical as a paranormal show but i like the little bits of the stories and history of those famous people and the format was good imo

A little addendum - for some reason best known to themselves, I received a second letter this week from Ofcom, basically repeating everything they had said in the first, but in much greater detail - justifying their decisions over three A4 pages no less! Don't know why they felt the need to do that, but there you go. Just thought I'd let you know.
It's almost as if they were trying to justify this rubbish to themselves as much as me ...
