Why does Yvette have to do that stupid chanting bulls*it on the seance? And you gotta laugh at the total idiots in the crowd who believe in it all And why does Yvette ask the spirits to "make a noise with your voice" What else they gonna make a noise with? Their arses? Well John, The Beattie's seem to do OK talking from there's

From what i saw last night they have clearly been reading their fan forums not to mention the various pisstake ones that slayed them mercilessly last live and are now passing off what others have been saying for years as somekind of revelation they have decided to follow themselves , it felt more like a realisation that they were done for if they didnt at least pay lip service or repackage the lives than a concerted effort or genuine new understanding that they had come to.
The term "back to basics" has been uttered more times from the various involved than wossy says "and now an ad break"...its clear thats the impression and the theme they want to push is just that ...the one thing that fans of the show have been screaming at them for years now.Perhaps the many "thats it even ive had enoughs" from diehard fans got them nervous enough to think "s*it it needs reinventing this could go either way ".
They also seem to have sacked the wild and weird set piece nonsense like the Tesla's and hanging crap along with much of the theatrics and are now preaching how they want more serious investigation time etc etc etc as if somehow the last however many years and antics had been forced on them rather than just been their own favoured choice and decisions to do so for ratings ,...incredible how Karl is now saying things like "of course there is no investigation equipment that exists to detect a ghost so we are back to basics" as if he somehow he must have forgotton this fact for the last decade only to remember it when even the most frivolus of fans have reminded him all that time that they are sick and tired of the chuckle brother style s*ite they have offered up and even they threatened to stop watching.
I could be entirely wrong of course and perhaps there is a genuine wish there to become less of a laughing stock and take on some of the criticisim and questions directed at them...i did get the impression from the last live as it progressed that particularly Yvette was growing increasingly scunnered with the big set piece palavers and chuckle brother style stuff reflecting on her seemingly growing wish to be taken seriously outwith badly...there was an air also of going through the motions in general from the entire last live ...a team full of people desperatly unmotivated and increasingly frustrated with each others differing wishes of what the show is was and how its viewed now as a complete joke.
The trouble is for those who have watched from the start and who have been aware of the whole sorry kit and kaboodle this sudden change of heart seems so condescending and contrived be it genuine or not , it may be what some have wanted but around the net and boards from fan and pisstaker alike theres this air of "why ignore all the suggestions and criticisism for so long only to turn to those very things now years done the line ?" specifically when it was clear after the last live people in general nevermind avid fans were either pissing themselves laughing or declaring the final straw had broken the proverbial camels back.
In short it feels like most fans are thinking "great back to basics " but equally are questioning the point in doing so after alienating them for so long to the point many couldnt careless or have learned enough to know that even what they now claim is "back to basics" isnt infact able to be considered a serious investigation either ! A lot of previous fans moved on and evolved their thoughts after being faced with so much unignorable s*ite that they simply couldnt take it seriously even a little bit which if a good thing, the more nuts and outlandish the show got the further it pushed people to question and research things they may never have even considered and the thing is these middle ground fans now expect more than just a bit of screaming and playacting....they may still have a long way to go but the audience demographic has changed and MH arent stupid when it comes to realising the punters they once had as die hard believers has perhaps been changed to a near majority of viewers tuning in to piss themselves laughing or have a bit of a laugh slaying their everymove.
That may keep figures going for a while but punters tuning in for a laugh soon get bored and go elsewhere ...and theres the egos involved ...viewers may be viewers even if their laughing but something tells me the Beatties arent all that keen on being the joke...the paranormal debate show of late has seen Karl appearing to try and reinvent himself or so he thinks anyway as this skeptical stalwart (i know....i know i did say or so he thinks) heavy on the medium bashing etc .The laugh is this has also been coupled with the laughfest "living with" series that undoes anykind of serious taking anyone could ever do.
Its clear the decision had to be made with MH let it die or give a final big push of reinvention all or nothing and the new saturday night 2 hour live series about to start, the massive backing of all things woo from Living this year , the live tour , this live and a prospective live in March and all the reinvention back to basics and blanket pushing of it on the network means they are commited to throwing all they have at it.

If they're going back to basics then perhaps they should think about replacing some of the team, too, as there are several there who have become nothing short of pantomime characters - "it's behind you" - "EEK!" Maybe a more serious team would produce a more serious investigation.
I know it's unlikely and I don't even know why I'm suggesting it as it'll never be any good, but I'm just joining in! ;D

I know it's unlikely and I don't even know why I'm suggesting it as it'll never be any good, but I'm just joining in! ;D I agree MissJo in that they have never been afraid to axe many members of the team in the past , but unfortunatly seem reluctant to at least "reinvent" the roles of the a few of those on the main investigations team most ridiculed and criticised by the viewers fans and skeptics alike in Stuart and Cath. If even the air of serious investigation is to be given they cannot continue to have the minimal contribution of screams and the odd meaningless interuption from Cath, her role may have intially been that of the everyman/woman along for the ride but she has become nothing more than the butt of jokes for viewers and a source of screaming and interuption with the odd comment that frankly offers nothing "it was really really eerie ..really scary" acompanied by a screwed up urgh face isnt gonna add much to any show.In all the years ive watched the show ive yet to see one moment that i felt she offered an insight that furthered or added to what was going on.Not entirely her fault ...and her treatment on the show has been questionable at times but none the less a lesser role wouldnt go a miss.Comic value but little more. As for Stuart he is now entirely a foil for Karl, witters on and is by in large cutt off when he starts blethering ive noticed. The cocky wideboy is gone as is the original at least marginally likeable everyday working bloke with a sense of humour that in the early days at least offered a bit of pluck...hes now become part of the scenery until the 11 o'clock chuckle brother alarm goes off and the now obligatory Karl and Stu fallabout slap stick starts. He was a rigger , Cath was a makeup and hairgirl ....they had a purpose other than just standing about ...perhaps its time to go back to basics with them too. In fact if their wish is Back to the bare essentials cut the ten or so crew and bystanders and get the bare minimum required a camera man,a sound man and a couple of investigators with a science bod .That would stop Yvettes constant need to say "stop moving/quiet/did you get that". Ten or more people shuffling about offering inane comments and generally faffing about is NOT conducive to anything much other than chaos.

Hi Fluffet, it was Cath and Stuart I had in mind, and like you, I can't see the need for Cath in particular as even if she's doing Yvette's hair she STILL isn't any good from what I can see!
As you say, the pair of them are just stooges and serve no purpose, other than as the comedy sidekicks to Yvette and Karl.

Also did they call Fatty Whyman a psychic and paranormal investigator? Since when has he been a psychic? You know i think they did Jon....*stifles laugh* He's another addition I reckon they could have done without ...he seems to be there entirely as a spare wheel under the guise of having him do further investigations after the show ends but so far from the last live they offered ...well nowt much really other than a bit of fun for the audience members who went on the after show jaunts with him. Maybe its his "ghost tour/night" experience thats seen him become a sort of "sitter" for them when they need a spare Karl to head off at 2am with some audience punters or do some reccie work before hand .Either way im not seeing his purpose and he isnt offering much in the way of interesting or valuable comment...i have to say he could do with a shave and a stylist as well if they think for a second he has any screen presense left .

Hi, Fluff, Missjo ,Have to say I agree with what you both have posted. Have really tried to watch this latest attempt of theirs. Thought to myself give it a chance. No way, I was as bored as ever, for me it has even lost its entertainment value, I could not manage a giggle even. Why I bother watching this sh?te is beyond me. I think I must be a lost cause, ever doomed to tune in and hope that I spot a ghost/shadowy sinister figure in the background. Some hope, I`m doomed I tell ye, doomed.

It's a shame this group can't disrupt MHL I would love someone to scare the s*it out of Stuart, this would be the best show they ever had if they could wind the whole team up I would then actually watch the show for that reason. It's about time an outside force came in and interrupted the live show to actually take the veil off the avid fans.

I think it is the type of plot that would need some one on the inside. To openly discuss on line what you intend to do is a no no. You are sure to be found out, the plotters seem as dozy as the M H TEAM.

Well the 'urban exploration' have a few days left to disrupt the show, I for one hope they fake some ghostly activity and then reveal it was them after. Proving yet again the show is fake and that the people involved are idiots

It could be them who are at it already, it is such a vast site i`m sure with a little ingenuity"they may have some" there possibly could be some one hidden on site, just waiting for the right moment to pounce. Oh I hope if they do, I will be watching.. What have I said this means watching and waiting with baited breath every bl??dy night.

Did anyone just witness the big row between Ciaron and Yvette on MHL post Mortem on Living It? Has he genuinely had enough or is this the start of his exit storyline? If it was genuine you shouldve seen Yvettes face! She continued to have a go at him in her horrid passive/aggressive manner while wossy was doing his link to camera. And Ciarons crime? To dare suggest that somebody may have been faking noises during last nights ouija board session. Well duh!

I may just watch a bit of the main show now on Living just to see if it continues. Ciaron was bright red and Yvette was seething. Wossy tried to make them hug but they were having none of it.
