It's an excellent podcast, very informative on homeopathy, 9/11 and i'm only 45 minutes into it. I love this email Steven Novella got:..... I have this weird mysterious power and i can flex my brain. Imagine if your brain were a muscle and on command you can tighten up the back half of it. When you tighten it, you get the electric chills, just like a cat walking over your grave. The sensation isn't in my neck, it's totally in my brain and kinda makes me feel as if i will pass out if i keep it flexed. If i didn't know any better, i might think i was inducing some sort of mystical trance state in myself. So what gives? Did all of that LSD i did as a teenager actually give me this special power, that i just haven't figured out how to use it yet to it's full potential? I sure hope so.........

Not trying to be alarmist, but it sounds to me that he's got something pressing on his spinal column. When he 'tenses the back half of his brain', he's probably working the muscles at the back of his neck!

I think this person has accidentally discovered their auricularis. Its the muscles which move the ears (that some people can wiggle) I can do it too and it does feel like a tightening at the back of the head. See how facts can kill your dreams, nasty facts Incidentally I can assure you copius amounts of LSD do not give you a brain flexing ability.
