I have just been to Blackppol this weekend (for a wedding, it wasn't my choice) and noticed that not one of the seaside fortune teller booths were open. I wonder if this is a result of the new law.

Nope, they were open when I went last week. I counted 7 or 8 along the promenade. All middle aged women, (mutton dressed as lamb) furiously texting on mobile phones, and quite alone.

I think it is generally accepted in Blackpool that the fortune tellers along the prom (and on the piers) has been for entertainment only.
The type of people who visit them are usually girls and women who want to have a giggle.
I am not overly concerned with that type of fortune telling, its fairground attraction stuff but it does bother me about the likes of those who are more into telling fortunes to the locals where people go for supposed 'real' information and not the giggling yokel types.
