I often frequent a Dog rescue forum & am genuinely surprised how 'mainstream' Reiki and using animal communicators seems to be... It defies common sense, this stuff is made up isn't it Is this just another example of cashing in on people's misery (how do they sleep?!) - or do people genuinely think it helps? NW (apologies if in the wrong forum, nubie)

Isn't Reiki basically like a message? That would feel soothing to anyone. Canine mammal or human mammal. As for animal communicators...I've worked with animals for 15 years...they "talk" in body language and through vocalizations that can be interpreted by humans as one thing but mean another to the animal. That's it. I once watched a friend pay a horse "communicator" $50 and the girl said...this horse is sad because he needs to run and play and feels restricted. The horse was on stall rest due to a suspensory ligament injury. Big wrap on horses leg and sign on stall that said - "hand walk only, no turnout" might have been the "communicator's" clue.

With reike there is no massage. It is hands off,as to animal reiki. If you have the cash and are daft enough, its up to you.

I think Sting and Marvin Gaye have opened up a clinic for that....... To the original question I have friends with horses and have seen one pay for a "whisperer" to help them get it into a horse box, load of old tripe, packet of peppermints and strong leading rein does it usually. I agree if you know your animal you can obviously see somethings wrong, and where. I do know of someone else who is supposed to be an animal/human healer, friend of a friend recommended him when I was in pain prior to a exploratory op. I was in that sort of state where I didn't really care, would have tried eating bat s*it if thought it would help, so was interesting to meet him. He was a businessman who went to an animal healer for one of his own pets and to (try & !) cut a long story short found out he had an ability so gave up his business to concentrate on it completely. I couldn't tell him what was wrong as I didn't know so he just held his hands near where pain was (all over stomach), there was weird burning sensation and he said he had no idea what I had but the left side was the worst, and pain was better for a while. The op confirmed that my condition was worst on the left side so that was interesting. People I know who have taken their pets always seem to be happy with results, but I took a friend with ME and friend thought he was crap. Sorry for rambling. He also doesn't charge if he thinks he can't help, or no improvement so am just not sure. Have bucketloads of spare horsepoo if anyone needs fertiliser?.....
