I know about cold reading from this site, but this was amazing: he was getting the wierdest details. How cold he come up with such stuff? He knew one guy was afraid of guns, and the guy said yeah, he was, he was a medic in the army! I'm flummoxed...

He knew one guy was afraid of guns, and the guy said yeah, he was, he was a medic in the army! I'm flummoxed... Erm, isnt everyone afraid of guns? lol I have noticed many mediums come out with very strange and weird info, this is actually a ploy, the weirder the better, because when you do get a hit, it is more impressive. Tony says "You are scared of guns" Man says "Yes i was a medic in the army" Man remembers "Tony told me when i was in the army i was scared of guns" Why didnt Tony say to him "I am being told by spirit that when you were a medic in the army that you were scared of guns?" You see that is the difference between cold reading and real psychic ability. Tony will ONLY ever come out with obscure references that the victim will then make fit. Lets look at Tonys comment one last time, and the possible replies from the victim. Tony says "You are scared of guns" Man 1 "Yes my dad had a rifle when I was young" Man 2 "My (Insert relative here) was shot and killed" Man 3 "I live in an area where there is high gun crime" Man 4 "I was stationed in Iraq/Afganistan/Falklands etc during the war" Man 5 "I was told horror stories by my Grandfather about the war" Man 6 "I go paintballing every weekend, my friends always get me first" Thats just a quick 6 examples of how someone could've answered and Tony would still be correct. Again this is how it works, say something that sounds specific, and let the victim make it fit. And they were just examples of himself accepting it, it couldve been moved to another relative if he wasnt scared. And how often have you ever heard someone say "I am not scared of guns, in fact I love them, I shoot people all the time!

Ah, yes...I see what you mean. That makes sense. Wow, it really is quite intoxicating if you don't have your wits about you, isn't it?

And thats the point, the average person will not see these things as i do, and thats what the medium relies on. What I do, is always try to imagine different scenarios where he could get a hit but with a different answer. Once you start to think it is usually quite easy to find many possible answers

Because i have seen the TV shows that were filmed from these gigs, I could explain EVERY reading given. Make your mind up. In other threads you say that shows are edited to show mediums in the best light now you say you can offer a possible explanation,in your opinion, what they or how mediums work. So now professional editors to a crap job? Just a rash of contradictions Jon. Here and all over the board.

So now professional editors to a crap job? Just a rash of contradictions Jon. Here and all over the board. Not at all LR. The 3 mediums shows that were aired on the telly, were largely unedited as they were 2 hour specials. And watching them was very different than watching the highly edited Sixth Sense show. The 3 mediums shows aired on TV were a much more realistic showing of how these mediums worked in my opinion, and i have also told people to watch them compared to the TV work, as these were theatre shows that were filmed and shown on TV as opposed to studio made shows especially for TV.
