Does not bear thinking about Red, give ourselves nightmares if we did. . It looks very much like the other religions and cults deserve a pat on the back,[ well at least some of them,] for being a tad more humane.

Drone bomb any group seen to be burning the US, UK or EU flag. Daisy cut the fuckers even, that would stop this s*it happening. The BLU-82B or “Daisy Cutter” is the largest conventional bomb in existence and is 17 feet long and 5 feet in diameter, about the size of a Volkswagen Beetle but much heavier. It contains 12,600 pounds of GX slurry (ammonium nitrate, aluminum powder, and polystyrene), and is so bulky that it cannot even be launched in a conventional method. To put that in context, the ammonium nitrate in just one Daisy Cutter bomb is about six times the amount used in the bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City. Although the blast from this bomb is extremely lethal, it still has less than a thousandth the destructive power of the atomic bomb used on Hiroshima.
Because of the cumbersome size of the Daisy Cutter and its deadly results, it must be uniquely deployed and detonated. It is launched on a delivery trolley and forced out the back of a C-130 cargo plane. The plane itself must be at least 6,000 feet off the ground to avoid the bomb’s massive shock wave. Once clear of the plane, the Daisy Cutter releases its own parachute. Attached to one end of the bomb is a three-foot long conical probe. When this probe touches the ground the bomb is detonated. Because the bomb is detonated before the majority of it hits the ground basically no crater results. However, the bomb still inflicts heavy damage, generating pressures in excess of 1,000 pounds per square inch near the point of impact, and the shock waves can be felt miles away.

Or parachute a piece of very radioactive material under the cover of darkness which lands atop the Mecca tardis. This way you could give radiation sickness to millions of Muslims worldwide as they go on their annual Hadj (Haj). Get some of Iran's polonium so it will really stir up the hornets nest. All refined radioactive material has a source and it can be found out from whence it came. This is how we know that Alexander Litvinenko who died in 2006 was poisoned by Russian Polonium.

Some of the Forum may be aware that I’m a “Brummie” (Yup, funny accent and all). I was 24 in 1974 when the Provo IRA bombed two pubs in the centre of my city, The Mulberry Bush and The Tavern in the Town, 21 people dead and 182 injured (I knew several of the victims). Because of the large Irish community the city was very “tense” for months afterwards. People (of both sides if I can put it that way) beaten in the streets , churches and community centres petrol bombed. Now I’ve seen real terrorism and I point blank refuse to be worried by this bunch of cretins. I know that it only takes one to get it right but mostly , regardless of their intentions , they’re just laughably ridiculous.
A selection of Sons of the prophet ,Successors to Sal-Al-A-Din ,the sword arm of Islam. Inbred ,mentally subnormal or just a bunch of clowns ,born too late to join the Keystone Kops.
Chapati Bombers
In 2005 this group of Islamic supermen got the explosive mixture wrong and attempted to blow up parts of London with uncooked , home made loaves.
Shoe Bomber
Richard Reid, English born Islamic convert. Unable to ignite an explosive device in his trainer. Because ,”He had worn his shoes for more than one day, and the rainy weather, perhaps along with Reid's accumulated foot perspiration, caused the fuse to be too damp to ignite.” (Exploding boots available from Acme Products , as recommended by Wile E Coyote.)
Underpants Bomber
Shining example of an educated Mohamedan ,brilliant at Islamic Studies but a complete failure at Chemistry. Failed to correctly mix the ingredients of his “explosive” but DID succeed in creating and demonstrating an incendiary method of birth control.
This short list doesn’t count the bunch that tried and failed to “Bomb” Glasgow airport, who only managed to jam a car into a doorway then set a bit of a fire and get their @rse kicked by a Scottish baggage handler.

As we near Rememberance Day once more, we're reminded of why so many gave their life to stamp out Fascism and intolerance.

But this is nothing new, a bunch of Christian extremists firebombed a Pagan church in about 400AD, by co-incidence this was on an episode of "ancient discoveries" on this morning about 05:30 as I was getting up for shift. The programme wanted to test if the claims that the Christian zealots could have melted the Bronze doors of the Pagan's temple, and discovered that they could using a mix of pitch, sulphur and pig's fat (1700 F !!)

People are still being murdered and persecuted for their religious and non beliefs the world over and I think they always will be because we'll never get rid of the cancer of religion.

Hi Morgan, I'm a little more optimistic, this is the first Society that has allowed non-believers a toe hold and to express themselves fairly openly. I hope that it will catch on and spread. The thing is that Humanists need to offer the same sort of social and support networks currently developed by the religious societies. There's a reason Churches / Mosques / Temples all have a Social hall, it's to give Humans somewhere to go to when they're at their most vulnerable and open to being convinced.

Hi Ogre, I think people have been able to voice their atheism in a very public way for a good few hundred years now. IMO it's not something we've been prevented from doing - certainly in the more liberal western societies. What we are seeing more and more is a vocal sceptical and atheistic society when it comes to challenging the blind faith and dogma of the three main monotheistic religions - thanks mainly to the internet. I do agree that the secular humanists can learn from the support networks that have long existed to stop the faithful slipping through the holy net morganp

"I think they always will be because we'll never get rid of the cancer of religion."
Maybe but that shouldn't stop us from trying , we've got to keep plugging away. Every falsehood ,every mistake ,every scandal .All must be seized on and broad cast as far as possible. Sorry , I know I'm preaching to the choir...ok rant over.
