Recently I was invited to appear on Richard Bacons brand new show on Radio 5 Live, along with regular BadPsychics contributor Emma-Louise Rhodes, we were to take part in a discussion on psychics.
Unfortunately the show also featured psychic Becky Walsh, and annoyingly she basically took over the show.
Neither myself nor Emma-Louise got chance to say much, but we tried.
I was cut off twice when trying to make points, so sorry guys for not doing better.
The funny thing was that Becky Walsh continually touted Dr Gary Schwartz as a great scientist who has proven the abilities of psychics, only hours after we published a video from Fox News which accused him of trying to con $3.3 million from a father who had lost a son.
So Becky's hero in the world of science is a wannabe psychic who tried to con someone out of millions, well done Becky, your psychic intuition really screwed you over there.
She also continually praised Gordon Smith, someone who again we recently showed to be nothing more than a poor cold reader.
See moh2005.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=bbpl&thread=10275 for proof
And despite Becky's claims, she has had work published by the same company that publishes Gordon Smith and Sylvia Browns books, nice company to keep don't you think?
So Becky didn't real do much good, other than expose her ignorance for various people she holds in high esteem.
I was also incredibly disapointed that they never spoke to Emma-Louise more, this is a woman who has incredible knowledge into the history of spiritualism, and has researched the psychic industry way more than most sceptics.
My own performance on the show wasn't great to be honest, they asked me dumb questions, and then cut me off when they didn't like the answers. Despite the producers also assuring me that we would talk about cold reading, the Barnum Effect and so on, nothing regarding that was touched upon.
And my final gripe is that i agreed to appear on the show FOR FREE, as long as they plugged this websites full address of BADPSYCHICS.COM
Something they never did.
I would say though that Richard Bacon is a good host, and did himself proud on his new show, despite obviously having the producers tell him to ask stupid questions.
We wish Richard the very best in his new job.
I know have an edited down 5 minute clip, that features me, and Emma-Louise.
Yep from the whole show which was about 50 minutes, less than 5 minutes was given to the sceptics! The rest was all about Becky talking rubbish.
Oh well, I guess thats life for the sceptic
