Now you'd think after all the recent revelations regarding the RCC's immoral ,corrupt ,criminal failures over the safeguarding of children ,that the hierarchy would take any opportunity to at least appear to be addressing the problem. Wouldn't you ? NO .... they're "coming on in the same old fashion". Check this out... www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/world-news/bishops-not-obliged-to-report-sexual-abuse-to-police-16163815.html"The Italian Bishop’s Conference (CIE) has issued guidelines on child protection that inform its bishops that they are ‘not obliged to report illicit facts’ of child abuse to the police. The new guidelines were released recently after the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith advised every Bishop Conference to create a document covering Child Protection if they did not already have one." I do wish I could say that this came as a surprise or a shock ... but its almost predictable these days.

Will they ever learn I think not. Listening to the radio earlier this morning and some one has been nicking private papers from the Pope desk!!!!! and having them made known. Apparently the papers should have remained behind closed doors and in secret. Naughty or are they? could be that these paper should be in the public domain. Will the truth ever be known, I for one doubt it very much.

Looks like there might be a bit of a grass roots backlash forming in Ireland at least. It seems some Catholics are trying to organise a "resistance" movement. (I was beginning to wonder what happened to all those ex-liberation theology activists that the RCC shut down). Anyway check this out..... Priests and laity move to reform Catholic Church in Ireland Two meetings to step up reform planned for this week An umbrella group is to be formed to represent laity interested in reforming the Catholic Church in Ireland. www.irishcentral.com/news/Priests-and-laity-move-to-reform-Catholic-Church-in-Ireland-155025225.htmlJust wondering now how long they are going to be allowed to run with this before Il Papa and the boys in scarlet step in to put a stop to it.

The idea they want to reform or remake their own Catholic Church is ridiculous in itself! The Church, their beliefs everything is currupt!! WHat do they actually expect to achieve

They had better watch out for a modern day version of The Inquisition.

One report concluded that while he could be held accountable for his actions, he was socially dangerous, easily influenced and could "commit acts that could endanger himself or others".
This report described Mr Gabriele as subject to ideas of "grandiosity", as attention-seeking and as a simple man with a "fragile personality with paranoid tendencies covering profound personal insecurity".
Another report cited in the indictment concluded that the defendant, a a 46-year-old father of three, had shown no signs of major psychological disorder or of being dangerous. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-19767667Sounds more like the Pope to me

Well this story which I considered of little interest could indeed get interesting.... maybe Vatican judges have refused to admit key evidence in the trial of the Pope's former butler, charged with stealing sensitive documents. Something must be known about the evidence to call it 'key' However.... Paolo Gabriele's lawyers had asked to include evidence gathered by cardinals who carried out an inquiry into the "Vatileaks" scandal for Pope Benedict
[...]
The Pope ordered cardinals to carry out an inquiry separate to the probe by Vatican police after the scandal broke.
The results of their investigation have not been made public. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-19767667

So even in their own "country" with its own "legal system" the church HAS to be beyond the law.
Its a bloody disgrace that this tin pot ,medieval throw back of a "state" has representation (although only as an observer) at the United Nations.
Personally I wouldn't let them through the front door ..... and if they did get in ...I'd count the silver before I let them leave.
