I’ve been following this story for the last couple of days … Personally I find it somewhat disturbing ,see what you think… Why is the National Trust pandering to Creationists? A new exhibit at Giant's Causeway reflects "views outside mainstream science". The National Trust has today come under fire for its decision to “reflect and respect” the view that science might not be real. At the Giant's Causeway visitors' centre in Northern Ireland, an interactive audio exhibition on the formation of the Causeway includes the creationist view that the earth was made by God a few thousand years ago - not billions of years ago, as geology and physics and biology and astronomy might suggest. www.newstatesman.com/blogs/culture/2012/07/why-national-trust-pandering-creationists

Excellent link, watchman. I've had a look at their 'Victories' section. This site is an active and constructive way of getting the message across.

You may already be aware the National Trust is to reconsider its position on the Giants Causeway visitor centre displays. Below are some comments from the statement on their Press Office Blog: Our intention was not to promote or legitimise any of these opinions or views. Unfortunately, elements from this part of the display appear to have been taken out of context and misinterpreted by some. A spokesman said: “Having listened to our members’ comments and concerns, we feel that clarity is needed. “There is clearly no scientific debate about the age of the earth or how the Causeway stones were formed. “The National Trust does not endorse or promote any other view. “Our exhibits, literature and audio guides for visits to the Causeway stones and this renowned World Heritage Site all reflect this. “To ensure that no further misunderstanding or misrepresentation of this exhibit can occur, we have decided to review the interpretive materials in this section.” ntpressoffice.wordpress.com/2012/07/18/giants-causeway-visitor-centre-interpretation-statement/The dawn of Enlightenment ?? Only time will tell.
