I am NOT catholic... But my ekdest child has to go to a catholic school, due to the fact that my local council are incompitent, and there is no other school availible, he has attended for over a year, He has behavioural issues, due to a brain bleed he had when born. This causing sligt delay in learning and concentration therefore affecting his behaviour.
Well they refuse to get a helper for him, but choose to sit him in the corridor, or another part of the room, and ignore him, i am going through numerous meetings to sort this. But they say its all about work ethic.. and he has none" And he will learn to behave and listen and learn if treated this way. ( i only found this out 3 months ago when his school freind told me he had not) when i asked him why he had not. He told me his head teacher had told him, along with his ( i may add muslim teacher!) that is a stand in, as the actual teacher is sick.
That he will go to hell., !!!! As he is not NORMAL, and does not work well, so he will go to hell, when i asked why he never told me, he replied that they said, mummy will not belive you as your too naughty!!!!!
Needless to say i was horrified, and disgusted, then to learn his local preist, from there church had also confirmed this to him, and his name is MR WRIGHT. Kayden told me his names that, as he is always Right... as thats what he was told!!!
I have asked for a enquiry etc to be carried out, but i cannot remove him, as there is no other school etc. I am angry but more so there delusions, fare enough belive that yourself.... if you must.... But do not tell a young boy that he is goping to go too hell, and also he will be trapped between heaven and hell etc. Its outragious they are allowed to get away with this... always have the same response... Religion, And if you dare say anything at all 'religionist' ( yes prob a made up word) you then get called, and sanctioned!

OMG that is shocking. Are you sure there is no other school around at all? Anywhere would be better than there it seems.
I think if you haven't already go to citizens advice, or somewhere that can better advise you on what your options are as this really is disgusting of a school to do that.
If any other members here have any ideas or suggestions as to what she can do please post as this is way out of my area of knowledge, and I want to help in some way.
A bad ass who will beat you like he's using the fists of god.
Thanks Jon, But no there are only 3 in my catchment, and they are all full. So full infact my other son is not in school, and is on a waiting list. And like mr Johno says, no its not illigal.... So they have actually not done anything wrong. I have had to meetings with school, and the education authorotit on the 1st his teacher said it had not been said, but then on the 2nd it was revealed it was said, but that that is there belief, and it was not said in a harmful way blah blah blah. I am back again on the 4th, and shall be discussing that i want him moved asap, on the grounds that what was told to a 6 year old has left him having nightmares and being very frightened he know thinks at night the 'devil' may come and take him, if he has been told of that day but given his problems, thats most days, and trying to explain to him is not easy,
I am saying that just as its there belief, does not mean frightening a child witless is good, and as a school, they should be able to manage behaviour aproapiatly and have the right guidlines in place on how to talk to and discuss religion with out frightening the children..
But it appears this has always been the case with the catholic schools, as talking to other parents, and people who attended catholic schools themselves they seem to think this is the norm... But not in such a forceful and awful way.
needless to say i am trying to sort it, as i would hate to think of many more children feeling this way. religion should not be about making them fearful, it should teach them to love and respect others, afterall is said and done i cant change there beliefs, but i sure as anything would like to change the way they try and embed them in to young children. is rather disturbing some of the things i have heard, mainly from the 60's but still is not nice. Makes me sick to my stomach it really does.
"And if you dare say anything at all 'religionist' ( yes prob a made up word) you then get called, and sanctioned!"
No ,its not a made up word.... check out the definition below....
re·li·gion·ism [ri-lij-uh-niz-uhm] Show IPA noun 1. excessive or exaggerated religious zeal. 2. affected or pretended religious zeal.
I'd say you've got exactly the right word.
I'm afraid I can't be much help on this , You are probably already aware that you have the right to withdraw your child from RE lessons which would limit the contact with the worst of the zealots but may further isolate your child from his class mates causing more problems for him.
I think Jon has a damn good idea there about the C.A.B. (Citizens Advice) as they will at least be on your side and know where to apply pressure locally.
Sorry I cant be more help... please stay in touch and let the forum know how you get on. This is a fight you shouldn't have to take on ,but its to your credit your not phased by them... I wish you well

Citizens adive is definitely the way to go. I would also suggest possibly a meeting with a solicitor to see if their treatment of yoru child is in any way breaking the law.
Most Solicitors will give a free 30 minute consult to see if its worth taking on a case etc, so might be an avenue worth looking at.
If I was you, I would take the child out of school, but obviously this isnt always an option and home schooling is not an easy thing to do especially when a child has behavioural problems.
Again the Citizens Advice place should be able to help and advise you.

Psychological abuse or some derivative of. How far are you willing to take it because no way you can do it on Legal Aid.
Cassus would be the man but he has not been on for a while.
CAB are going to tell you there is nothing you can do but you must go and ask anyway. Record it if you can for future broadcast and make sure you tell them you are recording it for such. If you are willing to fight this legal injustice then I'll offer what I can.
I'm Johnno, Jon is Jon which is an acronym for someone who comes to the UK for the winter and watchman illuminates that which needs illumination. We may not know the answer but you can be sure you will get a reasoned opinion.

Yes good advice from Johnno there. Make sure you keep a record of EVERYTHING, with dates, details etc, Just get a notebook and write everything down in there. This is very important in case any further issues were to happen, you have a record of everything
