NZ Medsafe figures show that since 2009 Customs has seized more than
1000 adulterated products claiming to be herbal, but contain
prescription medicines, not to mention other drugs that have no
active ingredient but purport to contain prescription medicines.

An on-going issue, and not just for materials imported over the
Internet....
Quality control can be an oxymoron in the alternative health
industry, as in the case of the recent audit of a UK manufacturer of
Bach Flower remedies and homeopathic products which found no control
over broken glass entering their medical products, poor production
processes resulting in 1 in 6 products failing to receive the
homeopathic ingredient, poor labelling and lack of quality control on
the products....
