Its a fairly routine story for these days ,catholic priest finally brought to justice for past abuse ....

"A PRIEST who admits abusing a teenage boy was sent to Stroud 30 years ago, it has emerged.
Former priest Patrick McCabe, 77, who admitted indecently assaulting a 13-year-old boy in Ireland subsequently spent time at Our Lady of Victory, a Roman Catholic retreat and refuge at Brownshill.
Today he will be sentenced after he pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to three counts of indecently assaulting the boy in 1979.
McCabe moved to America after being sent to the Stroud centre which was run by an American religious order, the Servants of the Paraclete, in 1981."
But what caught my eye was the following from part way down the piece .... giving a little more detail on the "Roman Catholic retreat and refuge"
"It was founded in 1959 and hundreds of drug dependent, alcoholic and paedophile priests were treated there.

says it all really.
