I used to...but eventually had to send a letter to the local Kingdom Hall respectfully requesting that we never receive another visit...They began giving me materials for my toddler son, and one sent a strange and rather hysterical letter to my husband about the impending end of days. Creeped me out and really angered me that they were targeting my toddler.

Ive never known them to do that. They stopped coming to my house as I always used to chat to them, and keep them as long as I could at my front door.
As a Greek, I have instant authority over them, since their Bible is translated from "mine", they rely on other unseen unknown people to translate it, so I just get my spare greek bible out, and point out that I have studied Koin Greek, and therefore can read the original text. (Bulls*it by the way).
At that point anything they try to tell me, I can say, "I've read the original text, can you say the same?" And of course they have to say no.
Plus the one classic mistake of the JWs is that they mistranslated the word Stavros, which means cross. They claim it is a steak. Also worth noting that JWs believed in the cross till the 1930's! And it wasn't till they found out that the Cross was originally a Pagan symbol that they decided to change.

That's great - combat them with knowledge! I have had productive conversations with Witnesses outside the context of their door-to-door witnessing. They do tend to gloss over anything unpleasant, though, such as disconnection or discouragement of higher education. I keep in mind that they believe that their work is to save souls, so I treat them respectfully, even if I don't have a high regard for the religion.

Yeah they do what they do because they truly believe they can save us, but as with everything in life education is the key, and if you throw facts at them they usually crumble.
Simple one is why there are no kangaroo fossils between Mount Ararat and Australia. Never been a single one found! Kinda spoils the whole Noah's arc story in an instant

This just reminded me me of the time they knocked at mine, I ignored the door, so one of my little girls went to the letterbox and shouted "mummy said she don't like you, we're not really in"......still can't decide if I found it funny or not. Kids though, no secrets with them.
