I had a phone reading with Amanda De Warren that was horrible (http://www.amandadewarren.com/). She claims to be an animal communicator, healer, and medium. She's currently Woman's Day magazine's resident animal whisperer, and has appeared in print media and on television. I've always wanted to believe in psychics, but I've been somewhat sceptical. I decided I would book a reading and see what happens, and see what kind of information she'd give. She's made claims like she can tell you things she couldn't possibly have known, gives names and other details.
The reading was just horrible. Very vague, no names, no details that confirm she's talking to my pets or relatives.
* Started reading "talking" to my grandma. Nope, both are still alive.
* Says I'll travel the world. True, I've been overseas, but nothing specific.
* Says I'll finish studying this year. Nope, I'm not graduating this year.
* I think at this point she said something about a cat. I've never had a cat.
* Asks for my dogs' names. She claims she knows names, but nope, she asks me for them.
* Talks about the most recent one that's passed and says was it hit by a car? Nope, it got sick and we don't know why. Died naturally.
* "Were you there when it died?" "Nope" "Your dog forgives it, you shouldn't feel bad" (just paraphrasing). I'd say she says this for every pet reading.
* She says she has 5 spirits with her (or souls, or figures, or something). She can't tell me who/what the spirits are though.
* Says something about a frog. Who knows?
There was probably more stuff, maybe worse than this, but I don't (care to) remember. It was just a horrible experience, but not unexpected. I knew what I was going into, and had an open mind, but was expecting it to be fantasy.
Here are some, what I think are rather interesting, services she offers:
* Fertility: Amanda tunes into the woman’s body and seeks out the problems. She then sets the woman a guide to follow which can be anything from eating specific foods to timing. Amanda proceeds to correct the problems to produce a healthy baby. To date she’s had an 80% success rate!
* Detox / Weight Loss: Amanda has helped many people who have tried just about everything to lose weight. Her approach is to connect to the body by Body Talk, asking what the body needs to help it remove toxins and help the metabolism to function. She then works with the mind and creates a vision for the person and joins the mind, body and soul to create a very natural process of weight loss which has been very successful.
* Checking Out a Potential Partner: Is there someone in your life you’re hoping will become your partner? Amanda will tell you if they are who they say they are, and if there’s anything you need to know which points to them not being suitable as a partner. She makes the connection to their guides and yours, bringing through information that they feel you may want to know. This is not an invasion of anyone’s privacy.
All in all, it's pretty shocking.
