Every thread that is about ghosts, mediums etc on this site all ask the same question, where is the proof? so I think I am entitled to ask it on here? I am an atheist and refuse to accept the bible is anything other than the medieval church's own Mein Kampf. Every year we see the myths of the bible debunked by science and yet America is practically as fundamentalist Christian as Iran is fundamentilist Islam. And the power of the religious right is almost certainly why Bush won the election. what many dont realise is that it wasnt until about the eleventh century that the church deified Jesus and his claims of being the son of God was a claim made by all political activists at the time. So having written that and having not been hit by a lightning bolt or turned into a poodle I ask again ,Where is the proof?

I agree pillsbury, there is far more evidence to disprove it than prove it. Evolution, a proven scientific fact is proof against the whole Adam and Eve thing, and yet still people believe. It has been proven that many things in the bible could not have been, but still people believe. Religion is born of man's need to believe in something and in some cases man's need to control. Logic and proof don't come in to it. well, that's my opinion anyway

I agree with you Pillsbury. I just can't understand why, when more & more the bible is shown to be the work of men & myths there are these fanatical Christians still believing in it to be "the word of God" !! Christians seem all too happy to blame the devil for these "actions" against the bible....but the Christian faith made the devil up anyway

the only fact that is true about the bible is that it is a collection of stories that were passed down by word of mouth from generation to generation.it wasnt till much later that someone decided to write them down and no doubt in the true storytelling fashion flower them up a bit. interestingly a geological program was once explaining how early man would have witnessed the great flood that created the grand canyon.it suggested that this was where the story of noah and the ark grew from.bearing this in mind the old testament surely could be said to be a collection of happenings that have been entirely embellished until they were eventually written down.

I have heard that there is a page missing from the bible......................? Yep, the very first page is missing. It said: "All characters in this publication are fictitious and any resemblance to persons living, dead or risen again is purely coincidental."

Didn't quite work with the priests abusing children though. I think the brainwashing over the centuries has worked unfortunately, why should people need made up, so called "Word of God" books to help in moral dilemma's? And really where have these religious texts got us all? Plus if you read the Old Testament there was a lot of killing of children because apparently God told them to

Hi Doodlebug! I'm wondering how the programme makers didn't realise that the Grand Canyon, being in America, couldn't have been known to the people who created the 'Noah's Ark' story so many years before America was even discovered?
