On the news recently there was a report about a bus driver, let me tell you the story............
A Muslim woman wearing a veil got on a bus and showed the driver her bus pass, the photo was was of a muslim woman not wearing a veil, so the bus driver asked her to remove her veil so that he could check to see if it was her on the bus pass, she refused, so the driver told her that she could not get on the bus with this the woman got of the bus and then proceeded to make a complaint to the authorities, and the bus driver got the sack for racial discrimination.
Im my opinion the bus driver was right not to let her on the bus as she could have been anybody using someone elses bus pass...........what do you lot think?

The swing has gone to far. If people do not want to live by our laws and rules then PISS OFF. I for one have had enough. I am no fan of the BNP but two of there members were found not guilty, now there is talk of changing the law of racial hatred. Where was the talk when Muslims and others are protesting on our street with placards full of hate. They want equality ,fine. That cuts both ways.

when you think we are trained and told to be vigilant and PC. Its almost impossible to live freely. Sad for both parties here.

i was trying to be PC. But, to think of the security aspects at least its a dangerous game. Yes, we have to abide by the rules of others countries just on holiday. to live here, means live by the rules of the UK.

i agree with the bus driver. If we were in their country we would be expected to live by their rules so they should live by ours whilst in the UK. I am not a racist but I think that we are being told all the time to change our behaviour more and more to fit in with their beliefs and to adapt so this is acceptable to them. It is wrong - we live in England - we shouldn't have to change just because we are becoming a multi-cultural society. If they don't like it then tough - tell them to go back to their own country where they will feel more comfortable.

I find the veil really offensive. It is wrong on so many levels. If it is a requirement that someone has their photo ID checked, they must abide by that law. It's their face the ID checker wants to see for f*cks sake - not their arse. So much of so many religions is offensive - including Christianity of course.

I remember once when I was 16 me and some friends got on the bus! I remember that I was 16, because thats when the adult ticket prices start! My mate got on the bus and asked for a child ticket the bus man said no unles he had ID, so he turned around and said, "Its just because I'm black ain't it and you are discriminating against me!!!" Well the bus driver let him on as a child with no comment!! I will never forget that!!! He was the only coloured persopn in my year at school and so played up to ot!! He was and still is a really nice bloke, but he did those things quite often. I found it quite funny as a kid, but I know that he took advantage of people!!! Any way not sure where I'm going on this, so I will stop! I think I got my point across!! Not sure what it was though!

You got your point across fine FMM. The race card,so often played. You sacked me cos am black. Nope you were a incompetent moron with a chip on your shoulder but i am scared of getting sued so here is a few thou in compo. Tide is changing in Britain today now i believe. About time to,equality is fine. Happy with that. Positive discrimination is just a nice way of putting "discriminate against white and British".

Also why do we as Brits feel the need to say we're not racist when we are putting our points across on issues like this. I say it is because that's how society have got us these days I'm of the opinion that if they dont like living in a Christian country then go and live in a Islamic country were they can live to the rules to their hearts content. Why choose our country in the first place if they are not willing to integrate.

They choose our country because of the benefits.
My father was married to my mom (English) and living happily in Cyprus. When the Turks invaded he was alowed to come to England because he was already married to my mom.
My dad has addapted to the English way of life and has never claimed a days benefit in his life.
If my dad could go home, he would go back in a flash, and my mom would go with him too.
I can understand people wanting to leave war torn countries, or to come here for a better quality of life, but when they do get here, they should bloody well make the effort to fit in. Instead of segregating themselves into little pockets of their own community etc wher ethe rest of society doesnt feel welcome.

when I was at school, there was one of the first coloured families to move in our area at that time and their children when to the same school as my brother and me. We all got on great and used to rib each other terrible about our race..all in good fun I must add, and the sad thing is we wouldnt get away with it now, personally we would but others would probably find it offensive, but that was our humour at the time, and none of us have been hurt by it..to prove the point I actually bumped into the very same lad I went to school with a few years ago and it was great big hugs and kisses..he didnt suffer from the things I said to him as a kid and nor did I suffer from what he said, as it was all done in just pure fun and the right context, plus both families were brought up to respect others regardless of who or what they were.

like lowrider says..the busdriver getting sacked for this incident is the pendulum swinging too far....and indeed, she should be banned for using busses for life....its time we got some reality and common sense happening...what kind of god is allah if he keeps his women covered up, wont let them enjoy their existence, starves his people for months at a time, makes em get up at 5 in the morning to go and kneel down behind some arabs sweaty arse and pray for 5 hours a day..what are they praying for, a frickin escape from their retarded way of existence??!
there, ive said it....its about time these religious freaks just grew the fuck up and got a mind of their own...religion is no longer relevant

How about putting another side to this
Perhaps she WAS BORN in this country and is following her religion
We cant ban people from having a religion can we?
What if we went abroad and they said your a christian its against our religion to be christian, you must convert to Islam and be done with it..............
imagine the uproar
Im not defending just another slant on things

I think when in Rome.... if I went to a predominantly Islamic country where the accepted norm was for women to cover their heads - I'd cover. If I had a real objection to the practices adopted in the place I wanted to go, I wouldn't go. Which is a shame but there it is.

its not a shame at all..its the way normal straight thinking people would be...
would u cause a fuss of this scale about it and start trying to convert the islams to christianity and if they dont abide by you you will threaten to behead them and randomly blow up members of their public?
course not..so why should we put up with it?
the government are frightened of offending them but they couldnt give a hoot about offending US!
and now of course we're being told by our trusty leaders that the threat of terrorism is even worse now
well if you WILL invade these countries without listening to what the majority of people in ur own country actually think about it.....
the reasons boil down to oil and money...
and the thing is...we can get by without oil with such things as electricity..electric powered cars etc...technology is so advanced now that they cant even invent something as simple as an automobile that doesnt rely on a fossil fuel???
its simple...remove the demand for oil and thats helluva lotta big companies out of business
i say we should hit em where it hurts and start thinking about alternatives to oil...cos they exist and have done for decades...

thats exactly what they want tho Shazz!! they want us all to convert to islam, thats why theyre so flippin pigheaded about it... I seriously doubt that everyone in islam is trying to convert us.. But the point I was making Was, what if this IS their country, what IF they were born here and chose to follow this religion.... Surely they are allowed to follow what ever religion they wish... If you are going to ban people born in britain following islam, then your are going to have to ban people follwoing Christianity, Wiccan, Catholic etc etc.....
