But it's so sad that people give that to their children to read!! The two homosexuals had pictures of devils on their shoulders! A kid who won't understand the words will remember that. A kid believes what they are told sadly.

Did I spot a logical fallacy in there somewhere? ;D It's such overt fundamentalist propaganda that even kids will see through it - unless of course it's rammed down their necks as true by their bigoted parents. And who says that without religion we'd have no morals? That propaganda is teaching hate through fear.

Absolutely unbelievable. That's not religion, that's just hate-mongering.

As some of you may know from my threads, religion has greatly affected me and my children when my ex became involved with a woman from Texas on the net.
My ex preaches this to my children. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he has these books at his place for them. I know he reads to them from the bible.
They have questioned me about gay and lesbian, and I just say the love they have is as deep as the love between a man and woman.
I tell them the most important things in life is being good and kind.
That has shocked me to the core.

this stuff is probably coming from the same people who want creationism taught as a legitimate scientific topic. But then again, what did you expect from a country that was founded by the most puritanical Christians the world has ever known?

good point. Incredible to think that they still succeed in 'recruiting' to there beliefs.

well since the pilgrim fathers got chucked out of this country for being extremely far-right in their christian beliefs, is it any wonder why America's like this? Not the majority of course, but certainly in some states
