Baptist minister's "gay baby" article causes furor

Saw this on AOL.com News:

Basically, a Southern Baptist minister wrote an article offending both sides of the gay rights controversy. He suggested there may be a biological basis to homosexuality, AND suggested gene therapy on babies in the womb to "cure" them.

Absurd!

well certainly not that wayt inclined myself, but i was always bought up to both value and respect others views and values..problem on this one is that you cant realy respect a view that berates another group of people that live in a manner or behave in such a manner as a result of their normal functions etc.
sex is a normal human function, some for whatever reason are only attracted to the same sex , personaly ill never be in a position that i can understand that but people are people and it would be a horrible world if everyone was the same, concequentlyin respect of valuing the remark or position he has made, cant do that either.
if he was in england he would probably be accused of homophobi and crusaded against by the press etc..but america is america.

Yeah, we've got that pesky "freedom of speech" and the other one, "freedom of the press", to say nothing of "freedom of religion"....

Oh FFs what planet is this guy on !!!

I liked the bit where he says the only way he can look at it , is as it being a medical problem, well if thats the case I will refuse treatment for sure !!!

I am all for genetic research to try and find solutions to hereditary illness or to find a better way of dealing with such things, but being gay..oh please give me a break !!

THEY ALREADY DO ACTUALY HAVE A HOLD OVER THEM, AND ALSO US..IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE, JUST LOOK AT THE NEWS PROGRAMMES, EVERY TIME ITS ON THERE THEY ARE..?
