Did anyone see his programme on the Westboro Baptist Church? I'm surprised these lunatics are still able to walk the streets relatively unmolested. Talk about arrogant, narrow-minded cretins. Fanatacism is alive and well in both the middle east and the US. Both sides of the same coin.

It's just a shame Louis didn't get to talk to the family members who have left, that would have been interesting. I think that Fred Phelps the founder of this ridiculous cult has a huge problem with gay people as that seems to be the basis of their belief system. I've seen Shirley Phelps on a few interviews, some of which I posted on here, and she has this very strange smile throughout interviews which just made me think of someone who looks brainwashed!

Fred Phelps et all are some of the most disgusting,Intolerant, ignorant ,bigoted,Humans (and i use that word VERY loosely) to ever infest the skin of this planet. He really is just a piece of Repugnant s*it! And he kinda makes me hope that there is a Hell cos you KNOW he'll be heading down there. PLUS he looks like the PReacher from "Poltergeist" Preacher from Poltergeist Fred Phelps

Didn't think their views were very different than Islam, Judaism and some Christian sects to be honest.

His preaching methods seem similar too, isolationist cult leader. Very Jim Jones type of character, I assume one day they will find the entire congregation of the Westboro Baptist Church poisoned or maybe in a Solar Temple/Aun type situation.

You know you're in trouble when they start trying to tell you how to live.

the guys on the military forum i frequent are not fans of this bunch. The disrespect they show to grieving families is disgusting. I feel sorry for the little children, being brainwashed into this .

I found it shocking that these people can allow their children to be subjected to such close minded ignorance!
That kid who got a cup thrown at his head! Did you see his family actually caring that much? Any normal human would pull their child out of such a hateful vindictive act!
The Kids didn't even know what their placards actually stood for! Wish there was footage of the people who left, would've been well interesting!!!
Sad Sad life they have!!!

I'm sure they will picket one military funeral too many and then be subjected to some well deserved broken limbs. The indoctrination of the children is totally reprehensible. Despite the vile views displayed in the programme, it was very funny. All of us non-westborians are shameless fag enablers (whatever that is).

www.break.com/index/westboro_baptist_church_chased_away.htmllol These idiots also planned to protest at the funerals of those poor Amish girls murdered last year (don't think they did in the end though.) A group called The Patriot Guard Riders often show up to honour the war dead, and keep between the idiots and the bereaved. www.mdn.org/2006/STORIES/PGR1.HTMthey are currently being sued by the father of one of the soldiers whose funeral they disrupted. i did have a list of all of the "church" members (about 15 of them are or were lawyers (some were disbarred for various reasons). can't find it at the moment.

I remember reading about their intent to Protest at the Amish Funeral. Apparently the people of the Town ( Not the Amish ,the "English") threatened to tear them a new one if they showed..Infact wasn't there such a Public outcry that Fred had a rethink? I also heard that Phelps openly provokes Physical confrontation so he can Sue.(he's a Lawyer)

here's the list of members- it may be out of date now. Not the family to sue, judging by the number of lawyers there!.

Everything was about hating gays, it did make me wonder if the saying "he doth protest too much" applies, is there a possibility that the founder of their hateful spiteful church is perhaps a closet fag or fag enabler himself?
The thing with the kids was despicable, I moan about the local jehovahs witnesses bringing their kids out but they dont really put their young kids in harms way the way this lot do. The most obvious point that came across was that the women apparently live the life of the nun whilst the men can marry, weird or what. I also dont think that most of them agree with the rubbish they spout but are too scared to leave as they know nothing else.

"By Phelps's own admission, he never dated, and had no interest in members of the opposite sex. He played in the school band (cornet, later switching to bass horn), was on the track team (he specialized in hurdling)" hmmmm
