We pick up visual clues from people all the time, whether it be the way they speak, the accent the clothes they wear, what type of jewllery they have on, the hair style the car they drive the aftershave/perfume they wear. This is all good information for a basic stereotypical cold read whether it be conscious or not. It is perfectly possible to assume that a 90 year old woman dressed in old style 70s chic wearing 3 coats and smelling vaguely of cat piss is: A widower lives alone except for cats owns her own home doesnt have much contact with any existing family husband died a while ago been planning her own funeral enjoys crossword puzzles and knitting talks to animals carries small amounts of shopping in a plastic bag has an eyesight problem has osteoperosis wears a girdle/support stocking ejoys getting her hair done but rarely used to play bingo but not so much these days has a buspass etc etc etc all this information is purely stereotypical and there is a very good chance most of it is accurate for this person. This I disagree with, thats just basic observation and life's way, thats not true of what I get. I am saying that I get specific things for people, not 90 year old ladies carry shopping and smelling. Thats just childish. But even so I understand your point. I am talking of names dates places of people I have never met, bear in mind I dont do this for a living, or give any readings to anyone so I am totally unexperienced at doing this. I can only say what I have done. Of course this doesnt mean I am psychic a medium or anything related to that, but purely a good observer. This site is cool.

Well this is why I am here, I want another view apart from my own, or that of a medium. See I think the mind is very powerful, and can do things we just dont understand, but whether that is being a medium, or belief in them, I cant explain. Psychology is a funny world, and no one in this world can explain 100% the working of the human mind, we are complex. Even though some are still like cave men. I will find my answers. If I'm not psychic/medium/sensitive then what am I, do I suffer with an illness. I would like as many views on this as possible, because like all you, I am sceptic too, and cautious of this, thats why I would never do a reading for people, I wouldnt feel right doing it. You are quite correct, the mind is a powerful tool when used correctly and it is capable of amazing things, but even though these mental feats are not supernatural in nature they are no less amazing. Infact they are more amazing because they dont rely on magic to work. The mind is a constantly updating biological machine, we could never fully understand its complete capability because of that, but we could theoretically map all its functional areas and predict patterns of use. I do not believe you are suffering from an illness, I just believe you have collected various experiences and assumed the wrong conclusion. You are putting too much importance on a causal relationship between seemingly random events. It could be a case of a simple self delusion on your part, much like the story of the "emperors new clothes", or it could even be you are the worlds first psychic, who knows without adequate testing? This I disagree with, thats just basic observation and life's way, thats not true of what I get. I am saying that I get specific things for people, not 90 year old ladies carry shopping and smelling. Thats just childish. But even so I understand your point. I can only say what I have done. Of course this doesnt mean I am psychic a medium or anything related to that, but purely a good observer. This site is cool. Basic observation is a key componant of cold reading which is a well documented and known tool of psychics. You may consider the concept childish but it is not less real because of your opinion to the contrary. You claim to know dates and places and people you have no prior knowlege of, could you cite an example of what it is exactly you knew/did/observed? and how you could not possibly have known these.

Hi psychic 100. I started reading this thread, and to be honest, thought oh great, another psychic who is going to be closed minded and not accept any other view. We've had a few, they usually dissapear after a few posts though.
I am pleasantly suprised however, and want to say well done for keeping you mind open to other possibilities. If only more psychics were like you.

Have you considered that you may have some kind of psychosis?
I am not patronising you, it's just a consideration.
Can you pin point when this started?
